Questions and Answers – Site Visit held 14 June 2023/10:00 AM EST

1. Q: What is the make/model/type of the hydrants to be repaired? Does it make sense to just replace these in lieu of trying to predict what repairs are actually needed and being wrong?

A: Yes; we will replace all the hydrants in lieu of repair. The new hydrant make and model is listed in the SOW.

2. Q: What color are the hydrants to be painted?

A: The hydrants shall be flow-tested and painted based on the NFPA 291 color code.

3. Q: What is the direction of turn on the hydrants?

A: Counter-clockwise

4. Q: Is each hydrant able to be isolated from the main loop?

A: Yes

5. Q: Where will power for the grinder panel come from? Confirm OP3.

A: The power will come from a panel in the room shown in the plot below. It is not in the location shown in the original SOW.

6. Q: The catch basin at B1 appears to need more than 6x6 of pavement repair. Recommend boxing out to stable asphalt to ensure minimization of future issues. Should you consider milling and repaving that section of parking lot?

A: Increase the size of the repair to 9x9 and box out to stable asphalt. No need to mill the rest of the parking lot.

7. Q: Please verify size of catch basin frames and lids.

A: Manhole cover diameter is ~26”, rim ~28”. Contractor shall field verify the dimensions. Catch basins do not need to be replaced. One catch basin has degraded asphalt around it and the other one has broken riser and it is sinking, but the metal itself can be reused.

8. Q: Size of asphalt area to be repaved at the first catch basin we viewed? Will hot crack fill be required and to what length?

A: The size of the asphalt area should be 9 x 9 ft. Use hot asphalt. Fill 6 ft of cracks leading to the patch.
