RFI’s

1. 6" pipe, we need to know the estimated length of the pipe? If the contractor provides the same chiller it should bolt back up to the existing pipe without a need for additional piping. If the contractor chooses to use an approved equal the contractor will have to account for what they would need to provide a clean connection to the existing piping.

2. Propylene or Ethylene glycol, ethylene is usually more cost effective. Propylene Glycol

3. Does a permanent glycol feeder/makeup tank need to be included? Yes. Include a permanent glycol feeder/makeup tank in the proposal.

4. Is there a sanitary drain system near by to evacuate the fluids out of the current chiller?

No

5. Once the existing chiller has been removed, who is responsible for the existing chiller?

The Contractor that removed it.

6. 30% glycol was mentioned during the site visit. Is the 30% glycol for the entire system or just for the chiller? 30% by volume addition of glycol is for the entire system. The system has a total of approximately 1030 gallons. Contractor will add approximately 310 gallons.

12. Lead times on new chillers can be 6-20 weeks. will long lead times be problematic? Do we need to focus on short lead time regardless of manufacturer? All work must be completed within the specified period of performance. Preference is both meeting the specification AND replacing the chillers as soon as possible.

13. Is there a Glycol preference, Ethylene or Propylene? Propylene

14. 30% glycol, is the 1030 gallon capacity the actual chilled water loop capacity? Yes. The amount of glycol needed would be roughly 310 gallons.

15. Is flushing the chilled water loop required? Only as much as needed to provide 310 gallons of propylene glycol. System is currently a clean water system.
