About this file

This document is a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) packet for the Elevated Tank Demolition project (Project #2-37-24-1-WTR-2026-24) issued by the City of Idaho Falls Public Works Department in August 2025. The project involves the demolition of a 0.5 million gallon (MG) steel construction eight-legged elevated tank approximately 185 feet tall, located within the Idaho Falls Power campus. The scope of work includes complete tank demolition, associated feature removal, proper disposal of hazardous waste (including lead-coated tank parts), and surface restoration of pavement and other finished surfaces disturbed during the project. The project is expected to have a duration of 6 weeks after the Notice to Proceed, with an engineer's estimated project cost of less than $500,000.

The SOQ packet outlines a pre-qualification process for general/prime contractors, who must submit detailed documentation demonstrating their qualifications by August 26, 2025. Contractors must provide comprehensive information including current and previous project experience, safety records, licensing, bonding capacity, and organizational details. Only pre-qualified contractors will be permitted to bid on the project, with the City reserving the right to reject any submissions that do not meet their standards of performance, reliability, and capability. The document requires contractors to have specific experience with elevated tank demolitions, including projects involving tanks at least 100 feet tall, crane-assisted demolition, and experience in urban or space-constrained environments.
