Text version
SOW ¶11.9.2 specifies the aluminum cantilever slide gate as "approx. 42' in length" and separately states "The clear gate opening shall be approx. 32 feet." Under ASTM F 1184, which ¶11.10.1 makes applicable to gate posts, a 32-foot clear opening requires an overall frame of approximately 48 feet. Please confirm which dimension is the contract requirement.
Answer: The total gate length is approx. The clear opening shall be 32 feet.
SOW ¶11.2.1 states that the Site Collection report and As-Built Drawings shall be made available if they exist for this site. Please confirm whether they exist for PA162 and, if so, release them before the 28 August 2026 deadline.
Answer: The documents are available and will be granted at the time of contract award, however it is the contractor’s responsibility to have all site utilities marked as stated in 11.2.1.
This solicitation is issued under FAR Part 12 and does not incorporate FAR 52.236-2, Differing Site Conditions. SOW ¶11.9 requires approximately 1,225 linear feet of fence posts plus six bollard footings four feet deep set in concrete, and ¶4.9.4 prohibits blasting.
Will the Government incorporate 52.236-2 into any resulting purchase order to address rock, fill, or buried obstructions encountered in post and bollard excavations?
Answer: Blasting is prohibited. Exact situations underground are unknown, however the ground where all approx. post and bollard locations have been previously disturbed during the original site construction.
SOW ¶11.10.4 states "No concrete work shall be performed when the temperature is below 38 degrees," and all fence posts, gate posts, and the six bollards are set in concrete.
The period of performance at §00 73 00 is 15 September 2026 through 14 March 2027. Will the Government accept cold-weather concreting protection in accordance with ACI 306 in lieu of the 38-degree prohibition?
Answer: 11.10.4. Concrete for Posts: Concrete mix shall conform to ASTM C 94/C 94M, using 3/4-inch maximum size aggregate, and having minimum compressive strength of 3000 psi at 28 days. No concrete work shall be performed when the temperature is below 38 degrees.
SOW ¶11.7.5 requires the .060 rigid vinyl wall protection to run from the floor up to the existing chair rail, but no height is stated and the Technical Exhibit contains no wall elevations. Please provide the dimension from finished floor to the underside of the existing chair rail.
Answer: the approximate height from the floor to the bottom of the chair rail would be in the range of 34 to 36 inches, however the Contractor shall field verify all dimensions and quantities prior to ordering material.
SOW ¶11.7.1 specifies both a mortise lock set with lever handle and full escutcheon trim, and a concealed vertical rod panic device with touch bar, on the single new west-side entrance leaf. Please confirm whether the Government requires a single keyed exit device with lever trim, or a mortise lockset in addition to a separate concealed vertical rod exit device.
Answer: single keyed lever handle along with a panic bar exit device that has the option to be set in the unlocked position.
SOW ¶11.7.9 requires prep/patch, primer, and two coats of latex on all remaining drywall surfaces in corridors 100, 128, 129 and vestibule 121, but the Technical Exhibit contains no section, elevation, or reflected ceiling plan. Please state the finished ceiling height in those areas, or provide the paint area in square feet used in the Government estimate.
Answer: the estimated square footage would be 3600 S.F., however the Contractor shall field verify all dimensions and quantities prior to ordering material.
SOW ¶11.7.1 specifies a continuous hinge with concealed wire transfer, but the hardware list includes no electrified lock, power transfer, or power supply. Please confirm whether the new leaf is required to carry electrified hardware to serve the existing access control devices reconnected under ¶11.7.3.
Answer: 11.6.5. The Contractor shall remove and set aside for reuse all access control devices on the west side (HSB loading dock) entrance/exit door.
SOW ¶¶11.6.7 and 11.7.10 require prepping, priming, and two coats on all metal doors and frames in corridors 100, 128, and 129, but no quantity is stated. Please provide the Government's estimated number of metal door leaves and frames in scope.
Answer: All doors in the above-mentioned areas are visible on page 2 of the Technical Exhibit.
SOW ¶¶11.5.1, 11.5.2, and 11.5.4 place the refrigerant line set, condensate pump, collection pan, and PVC drain in "area R-1," which does not appear on the Technical Exhibit; the only stair adjacent to room 122 is shown as "STAIRS B-1." Please confirm that area R-1 is stair B-1, and state whether that stair is a fire-rated exit enclosure, as NFPA 101 and the IBC prohibit piping not serving the enclosure from being installed within it.
Answer: The technical Exhibit lists the location as R-1, to the best of our knowledge the stairwell is not a fire rated enclosure.
SOW ¶¶11.5.3 and 11.5.5 require new breakers in the panel in room 136, but no panel schedule or one-line diagram is provided. Please provide the panel schedule or confirm the panel voltage and phase configuration and that spare breaker spaces and capacity are available.
Answer: Room 136 contains all AFRC electrical panels of varying voltages; spare spaces are available. As-Builts can be provided upon award of this contract.
SOW ¶11.5.1 places unit sizing on the Contractor (approx. 15,000 BTU) for room 122, which the SOW calls the "computer room" but which Technical Exhibit sheet 1 labels "PAARNG Learning Center, 496 SF." Please provide the Government's sizing basis — the room's actual use, connected equipment load, and whether the existing building HVAC will continue to serve the room — so all quoters size from a common basis.
Answer: Room 122 is a learning center computer room; the existing building HVAC will continue to serve the room.
What concrete footing diameter and depth are required for the new chain-link fence line posts, terminal posts, and gate posts, and are any proposed drawings or details available for the new chain-link fence and gates?
