1. On page 2 of the RFP, it states: There will be one base year and four (4) one (1) year options. Should this be deleted as it does not line up with paragraph 8.5 of the PWS?
Answer: There are no option years but Options. Page 2 of the RFP has been corrected.
2. On page 4, CLIN 0003 is listed as option period 3. Should this be listed as option period 2?
Answer: Yes. All Option CLIN has been correct to state Option instead of Option period.
3. On page 5 of the RFP, clin 0005 states that the supplies and services description for option 4 is mislabeled. Should this read CNC Turning Center per PWS 4.5?
Answer: CLIN005 has been updated. CLIN 0005 Option 4 is the CNC turning center per PWS 4.5
4. On pages 53 and 54 of the RFP, the CLIN table describes week delivery periods for the optional machines. Should this read NLT 14 weeks after option exercised instead of contract award?
Answer: Yes. Table updated.
5. PWS 4.2 States that the requirements for the CNC VMC option machine are as described in 4.1. PWS 4.1.24 describes a Hardinge lathe for trade-in consideration. Does the government intend to consider a trade in for the 4.2 option requirement as well as stated in 4.1.24?
Answer: No
6. PWS 4.5 states One (1) CNC Turning Center that meets the following technical performance requirements within 9 months of base contract award. Is it understood that the government must exercise this option by month 9 of the base contract?
Answer: PWS 4.5 is updated to assign with Section 7 and Section 8 as follows by removing “within 9 months of base contract award. In addition, the same language is also removed from PWS 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4.
7. PWS 8.5 states: Period of performance (POP) is 18 months from contract award. POP for the Base Contract shall be 12 months. During that time frame any of the options may be executed. POP for each option shall be 6 months from time of award. This is to include delivery, installation and training. Will the government please confirm that the period of performance is 18 months from contract award consisting of 12 months for the base period and 6 months for the option periods and that the options can only be exercised in the Base Contract Period?
Answer: The maximum period of performance of the base contract is 12 months. The intent is to be able to award options within 12 months of base award. If an option is awarded, the awardee will have 6 months to complete the requirement. SOW has been updated.
8. Will there be an industry day to see the space in the shop and to assess trade-in machines?
Answer: No. However, potential offerors can request a site visit. Please note that the Government does NOT intend to extend the closing date of 2021MAR08
9. We would like more information on the Haas trade in, and the Hardinge lathe trade in. Can you provide the serial numbers, number of hours, and pictures of the machine to optimize the trade in values?
Answers: Here are the information for trade ins:
