Text version

1: For the 3 potential machines detailed in section 4.2 (Option 1), section 4.3 (Option2) and section 4.5 (Option 4): do we need to meet all requirements exactly to your specifications or are these more guidelines of the kind of machines you are looking for? We have machines that we feel are better quality and that we can support better but they fall a little short on the specs.

Example: On the dual spindle lathe our main spindle speed and torque are slightly less than specified. On the VMC we meet all criteria but the Z axis travel is slightly less.

We can match 1 for 1 specification wise but we also keep in mind the customers applications, the quality of machines and how we can support them.

Would it be possible to submit 2 separate bids, one with our best recommendations and the second matching your specifications?

Answer: The equipment needs to meet the specifications as listed in the SOW. Only one submission should be submitted meeting the specifications as listed in the SOW.

2: In the Q&A Feb 17, #9 asks for the serial numbers, number of hours, and pictures of the machines for trade-in consideration. The Government provided images only for the Haas machines. Will the government please also provide images for the Hardinge?

A: Yes, the images for the Hardinge are now attached in this Q&A.
