About this file

This is an Addendum No. 1 to an Invitation to Bid issued by the Long Beach Public Utilities Department (LBPUD) on May 21, 2025, regarding the furnishing and delivery of four (4) backhoe loaders. The addendum modifies the original ITB specifications and requires bidders to acknowledge receipt by signing and returning the document with their bid submission. The addendum addresses three key clarifications submitted by potential bidders: confirmation that a bid bond is required for the solicitation, confirmation that a breaker is needed for each unit, and approval of an alternate breaker supplier.

Regarding bonding requirements, the LBPUD confirms that a bid bond is mandatory and references the General Specifications section for details. Unsuccessful bidders who submitted cashier's checks or certified checks in lieu of a bid bond will have their funds returned upon contract award, with coordination by LBPUD through in-person delivery or mail to the Central Procurement office. For the equipment specifications, the LBPUD confirms that one breaker per unit is required and approves the Striker Toku TNB-6E as an acceptable replacement for the original Tramac SC50 breaker specification. The contact for the procurement process is Esme Houtepen at the LBPUD Central Procurement office located at 1800 E. Wardlow Road, Long Beach, California 90807, with solicitation reference number UD-25-247.
