About this file

This document is a U.S. Preference form related to procurement regulations for products manufactured in the United States, specifically addressing state purchasing guidelines under R.S. 39:1604.7. The form provides a mechanism for vendors to claim a five percent price preference for products manufactured entirely within the United States, with specific conditions including that the U.S.-manufactured items must be equal in quality to alternative products, not exceed the competing bid price by more than five percent, and be certified by the vendor as domestically produced.

The preference policy allows procurement officers to prioritize U.S.-manufactured products when awarding contracts, with detailed requirements for vendors to qualify. Key conditions include the vendor agreeing to sell items at the lowest bid price, certifying the manufacturing location within the United States, and providing specific details about the production process. The form requires vendors to indicate whether they are claiming the U.S. preference, specify which line items are covered, and provide the manufacturing location, with a signature certifying the accuracy of the claim.
