AMENDMENT: The solicitation has been amended to provide clarification.

QUESTIONS

1. These is an inconsistency regarding the number of positions to be considered as Subject Matter Experts. Does the IRS anticipate receiving a resume for a SINGLE SME (primary) for the breadth of the project or resumes for MULTIPLE SMEs, as in one for each technology involved? Please advise.

ANSWER: One vendor may have a single Subject Mater Expert (SME) covering multiple technologies involved. Another vendor may have multiple SMEs covering the same range of technologies involved. The IRS anticipates receiving resume(s) from each vendor, identifying the expertise and skill mix that they propose to support the work in the

RFP.

2. It has come to our attention that there is considerable work being done to support Informatica at IRS, one of the applications listed as possibly needing support in the solicitation. To our knowledge Informatica is currently being supported by some resources on the Middleware incumbent contract and by a significant number of other resources from a separate Informatica contract which. As you are requesting a Firm Fixed price proposal, can the government please clarify the level of support required to support Informatica as requested in the solicitation? Can the government also clarify if the separate Informatica contract resources are intended to remain separate and operate in parallel to the new Middleware contract?

ANSWER: Section C.3.2.1.3 identifies KISAM support, where the contractor shall provide support for Middleware components. Informatica is listed as a Middleware Transitioned Product in Table 2. Knowledge of Informatica and all the Middleware components in the Enterprise Infrastructure and the Production Projects (C.3.2.1.2) is required to Triage KISAM trouble tickets in support of Middleware O&M. This Triage would identify the source of the problem and assign the ticket to the project area responsible for ticket resolution.

SMTI is currently supporting CADE2, Enterprise Informatica Platform (EIP) and Informaica via multiple contracts outside the scope of the Middleware O&M contract.

This support includes 24x7 Informatica Workflow Monitoring in non-production and Level 3 Informatica Support in non-production and production environments. This support is not part of the Middleware O&M support; however Middleware support is complex and may evolve as new products enter the Infrastructure. Should Informatica support in the future place additional requirements on Middleware O&M, then this new work may be identified and a Task Order could be issued under the IDIQ procedure.
