About this file
This is a Statement of Work for a one-year preventative maintenance contract on a JEOL USA IT800(SHL) Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to be performed at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. The contract covers maintenance on six major components: the JSM-IT800(SHL) F/E Scan Electron Microscope (Serial Number SM1040003380338), SM-13051UPSWE Power Supporter UPS-702WE, SM-14044SNSLL Stage Navigation System Type LL, SM-74330HCS Hybrid Chamber Camera, SM-14120UED Upper Electron Detector, and SM-Z211301DRP Dry Vacuum Pump NEODRY 15E-1. The SEM serves multiple critical projects within the Detector Systems Branch including RST, MUSE, ATHENA, PRIMA, EXCLAIM, and Habitable Worlds, supporting NASA's strategic focus areas in Planetary Defense, National Security, and Moon to Mars Missions.
The maintenance contract includes the following benefits and service parameters: a dedicated account manager, factory-trained engineers, telephone support, call history tracking, 15 days of allowable maintenance time per year, a parts threshold of $4,750, and a commitment to arrive within 5 working days of a service request. The contractor must be a JEOL USA factory-qualified engineer capable of performing preventative maintenance on all specified microscope systems and components. No government-furnished equipment or information is required. The period of performance is one year from the contract award date.

JEOL IT800(SHL) Preventative Maintenance Contract
Statement of Work
PR: ______________
Background
The Detector Systems Branch requires a 1 year preventative maintenance contract on JEOL USA IT800(SHL) Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The SEM is a critical analysis and tool for multiple projects in the Detector Systems Branch, including RST, MUSE, ATHENA, PRIMA, EXCLAIM, Habitable Worlds among many others which are important to Goddard’s strategic focus areas including Planetary Defense, National Security and Moon to Mars Missions.
The SEM is manufactured by JEOL USA and has capability for a variety of high resolution thin film and device imaging analysis including secondary electron emission imaging, backscatter electron emission imaging and combinations and X-ray spectroscopy. Imaging can be done at very low voltages allowing for evaluation of thin film surface morphology or residual contamination. The SEM consists of a vacuum chamber a motorized stage, a high voltage field emission electron gun, secondary electron detector, backscatter electron detector, a computerized control panel, turbomolecular, rotary and ion pumps.
All of these systems require periodic maintenance from a JEOL USA factory qualified engineer to maintain proper operation of the tool.
