Gardening Services – STC10015R0002
Questions & Answers:
Q: As per the Item 1.2 Page 7/54 (General Requirements), indoor plants are included in our scope of work. Kindly provide us the quantity and type of existing Indoor Plants in the site (Indoor Plant is not indicated in the Attachment C as per the attached file).
A: There are a total of 34 potted indoor plants of various sizes with height ranging from 30 cm to 150 cm.
Q: Kindly clarify if there is an approved dumping area such Skip Container in the site or do we have to provide skip containers in relation to the disposal of debris in the site.
A: Legal disposal of debris will be the responsibility of the Contractor. No trash container is provided by the Embassy at each of the three sites. Ref. Section 1.7 of the solicitation.
Q: Kindly clarify if there is available storage area for the storage of our tools and equipment for the project.
A: Yes, storage area for tools will be provided at the Embassy.
Q: Missing with the approximate size of the plants as it essential to know the sizes for pricing purpose
(defining maintenance and also replacement of plant Item purpose) and to provide an appropriate bid.
A: This is a schedule for the existing vegetation, so these should be expected to be mature plants / trees per the vegetation schedule provided in Attachment C, Section 1 of the solicitation. Ref. Attachment C of the solicitation.
Q: How many supervisors are required?
A: The offeror determines how many supervisors are required to perform the requested services.
Q: How would we submit the annual maintenance plan?
A: Annual maintenance plan must be submitted along with the proposals. Refer Section 1.3.6 of the solicitation.
Q: Who is the current contractor?
A: Model Building Maintenance (MBM) is the current contractor.
Q: We are contractors that work for the US Military in the MEA and done some work for State Dept. in
Iraq. We haven't set up shop in UAE yet but have a lot of contacts. The question is can we subcontract this work while still managing and supervising the work ourselves?
A: We do not prohibit subcontracting, nor is it stated in our contract. However, permission to subcontract in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be based on the host country’s laws and regulations.
Refer FAR 52.203-6, Section 2 of the solicitation.
Q: Can we send the proposal via email?
A: Only hard copies will be accepted. One original + two copies are to be submitted.
