Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Building 5 Room 19 Animal Entry-Holding Methyl

GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National
Centers for Animal Health (NCAH) Building 5 located at 1920 Dayton Avenue, Ames, IA has an existing eight-year-old MMA floor coating that has a worn surface that needs a more aggressive traction coating for large animal traffic and caretakers.
We need the floor surface prepared to accept a new MMA coating with a 6 mm flint traction coat and a 46 mesh white aluminum oxide traction coating areas designated on the attached drawing. The total area is 430 square feet. Integral base does not have to be recoated, but the finished coating must adhere correctly to the existing integral base for a watertight seal in the corners with no gaps or voids.
Additional grinding will be required under the interior door that swings into Room 19 so the door does not interfere with the new floor coating (presently 1/8” or less clearance). The door cannot be modified.
2.0 Background: The existing Building 5 MMA floor coating was installed during a resurfacing project in 2015 using BASF MasterTop 1855 SRS CP product.
