a. Material not as specified per paragraph 7

b. Any visual defect per paragraph 4

c. Any dimension out of tolerance per paragraph 5

d. Not meeting the end item testing per paragraph 6

3. Production Lot Inspection.

3.1 Lot Size. A lot shall be considered 50 or less production items.

3.2 Sampling. Sampling shall be performed in accordance with ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 and as specified on 11-1-4113.

4. End Item Visual Examination. The end items shall be examined for the nonconformities/defects listed in Table I. The lot shall be expressed in units of timer assemblies. The sample unit shall be one timer assembly. The inspection level shall be S-2 and the Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL), expressed in terms of nonconformities/defects per hundred units, shall be 1.0 for major defects/nonconformities and 4.0 for total (major and minor) defects/nonconformities.

6 End Item Testing. Drawing 11-1-4113 provides the end item testing requirements for the FAI and conformance examinations. An M-1 or M-2 Cargo Parachute Release Assembly is required to test the timers. Per 11-1-4113, the Cargo Parachute Release shall be provided as government furnished material.

6.1 Lot Testing. One timer from each lot shall be subjected to testing as per 11-1- 4113.

6.2 100% Production Testing. Every production item (100%) shall be subjected to the Unwinding Cycle Test as defined in 11-1-4113 with the exception of temperature conditioning. Each item shall be tested at room temperature with no prior hot or cold temperature cycle. This testing is to be performed by the manufacturer with signed documentation indicating the tester, time, date, total passed, and total failed for each lot (see 3.1.1). Pass/Fail conditions shall be as stated in 11-1-4113.

6.2.1 Failed Items. Items failing the Unwinding Cycle Test shall be culled from the lot and maintained for DCMA QAR accounting. Following review by the DCMA QAR, the failed timers may be dissembled and parts reserved for rework of all previous failed items as a final lot.
