1. Prices must be entered for all items of the schedule. Total amounts submitted without prices being entered on individual items will be rejected. Additions will be subject to verification by the Government. In case of variation between the Job (lump-sum) prices and the total amount, the lump-sum prices will be considered the price submitted.

Construction Specification Power Feeder Replacement, Bear Creek Dam, CO

1.0 Scope of Work. The contractor shall provide and install a new 480V feeder for the Bear Creek Dam outlet structure. This involves boring or trenching in a 480V feeder and conduit from the control building to an Xcel energy transformer located approximately 1,000 feet away. The contractor will provide and install a new 480V disconnect in the control building and provide and install a metering pedestal at the transformer. The contractor will make all connections to this equipment. In addition, the contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing transformer and disconnect equipment as specified within the attached specifications and drawings. Xcel will provide, install, and make connections to the new transformer.

1.1 Period of Performance. The period of performance shall be 120 days after the notice to proceed has been issued.

1.2 Site Visit. Interested contractors may perform a site visit upon request. Contact Joe Maxwell at (720)922-3858 to arrange a site visit.

2.0 General

2.1 Standards and Regulations. The Contractor shall perform to the standards in the contract and comply with all Local, State, and Federal Regulations during the services performed. The Contractor is responsible for ascertaining the extent to which these regulations affect the operations resulting from this contract. The Contractor shall comply will all applicable regulations. Applicable regulations include, but are not limited to the following:

a. Engineering Manual (EM) 385-1-1 (USACE – Safety and Health Requirements Manual), dated November 2014;

b. Occupational Safety and Health Standards (29 CFR 1910);

2.1.1 Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA). The contractor shall prepare the AHA in accordance with Paragraph 01.A.14 or 01.A.15 of the EM 385-1-1. If using Paragraph 01.A.15, prepare the AHA IAW Figure 1-2. Submit the AHA electronically for review at least five (5) calendar days prior to the start of on-site work. The analysis should be used during daily inspections to ensure the implementation and effectiveness of the activity's safety and health controls. Note: Contractors and other individual employers typically use Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), or similar Risk Management assessment tools. The government considers equivalent to, and acceptable substitutes for, the USACE’s AHA provided the data collected is the same as that required by the AHA, commensurate with the type of services the contractor is performing.

2.1.2 Abbreviated Accident Prevention Plan (APP). EM 385-1-1 in its entirety may be too complex for the type of work performed under these contracts; contractors may reference Appendix A, for abbreviated Accident Prevention Plan (APP). The contractor shall only need to submit items in Appendix A that are pertinent to the contract. The contractor shall use a qualified person to prepare the site-specific abbreviated Accident Prevention Plan (APP). The contractor shall prepare the APP in accordance with the format and requirements of the EM 385-1-1 and supplemented herein. The contractor shall sign and submit the APP for approval prior to the start of work onsite.

2.2 Measurement and Payment.

2.2.1 The Government will make payment after services have been inspected and accepted, and the contractor’s invoice has been reviewed, approved, and processed. The contractor shall submit the invoice to the COR.

The contractor is required to include the contract number on the invoice, make sure that the address matches SAM, and the associated CLIN (Contract Line-Item Number) is listed to each line applicable so that receipt and payment for the item or service may be expeditiously processed.

2.2.2 The contractor must provide the contractor’s name, address, contract number, period of services completed (i.e., for the period of performance as listed in part 1.3), CLIN number and specific quantities of work performed (i.e., 1 Month, 40 days, 100 acres, etc.), and total requested, for an invoice to be considered proper. The contractor shall submit the invoice upon completion of all services, in accordance with the period of performance stated in the

CLIN.

2.3 Location. Bear Creek Dam, Lakewood, Colorado

2.4 Staging Area. Staging will occur in the parking lot located beside the Bear Creek Control Building. The Contracting Officers Representative will direct the contractor as to the exact location.

2.5 Delivery, Storage, and Handling. NA – The Contractor will be responsible for all equipment until it is installed.

2.6 Work Hours and Work Limits. The contractor is responsible for conducting business between the hours of 7AM to 5PM Monday thru Friday except Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings.

2.7 Facilities. No utilities are provided for this project. Power, water, and restrooms are not available.

2.8 Environmental Conditions. Contractor is responsible for disposal of all waste materials as a result of this contract. This includes but is not limited to arranging transportation of solid waste and any costs associated with disposal in compliance with Federal, State, and local requirements for solid waste disposal.

2.9 Antiterrorism/Operation Security Requirements

2.9.1 General Security Requirements and Guidance. The security requirements described below apply to all contract personnel (including employees of the prime Contractor (“Contractor”) and all subcontractor employees) supporting the performance requirements of this contract. The Contractor is responsible for compliance with these security requirements. Questions regarding security matters shall be addressed to the designated Government representative (e.g., Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Requiring Activity (RA) representative, or Contracting Officer (if a COR or other RA representative is not appointed)). Contract personnel are critical to the overall security and safety of US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) installations, facilities and activities, and security awareness training contributes to those efforts. The Department of Defense (DoD) and Army security training requirements specified below, if applicable, are performance requirements; all applicable contract personnel shall complete initial training within 30 days of contract award or the date new contract personnel begin performance on the contract. Within five business days from the completion of training, the Contractor shall provide written documentation (e.g., email or memorandum) to the Government representative. The documentation shall include the names of contract personnel trained and which training they completed; the Contractor shall maintain training records as part of their contract files and be prepared to provide copies of training certificates to the Government representative. Contractor personnel and vehicles are subject to search when entering federal installations. Additionally, all contract personnel shall comply with Force Protection Condition (FPCON) measures, Random Antiterrorism Measures (commonly referred to as “RAMs”), and Health Protection Condition (HPCON) measures. The Contractor is responsible for meeting performance requirements during elevated FPCON and/or HPCON levels in accordance with applicable RA plans and procedures—this includes identifying mission essential and non-mission essential personnel. In addition to the changes otherwise authorized by the changes clause of this contract, should the FPCON or HPCON levels at any individual facility or installation change, the Government may implement security changes that affect contract personnel. The Contractor shall ensure all contract personnel are aware of their security responsibilities, including any site-specific requirements identified in local policies or procedures.

2.9.2 Physical Security and Access Control Requirements. All contract personnel requiring physical access to a federal installation or facility shall comply with the access control procedures of that location. Contract personnel requiring unescorted access to meet contract performance requirements on a DoD installation in the US shall be vetted by the installation/facility Provost Marshal/Directorate of Emergency Services/Security Office using the National Crime Information Center-Interstate Identification Index (commonly referred to as “NCIC-III”) and Terrorist Screening Database (commonly referred to as “TSDB”). Contract personnel shall comply with all personal identity verification requirements specified in installation/facility policies and procedures. Contract personnel who do not meet requirements for unescorted access to USACE facilities shall coordinate escorted access with the Government representative, as needed. Contract personnel who receive keys, access cards, or lock combinations that provide access to government-owned property shall comply with key and lock control procedures of the RA

2.9.2 Suspicious Activity Reporting training (e.g. iWATCH, CorpsWatch, or See Something, Say Something).

The Contractor and all associated subcontractors shall brief all employees on the local iWATCH, Corps Watch, or See Something, Say Something program (training standards provided by the requiring activity ATO). This locally developed training will be used to inform employees of the types of behavior to watch for and instruct employees to report suspicious activity to the COR. This training shall be completed within 10 days prior to mobilization and within 30 calendar days of new employees commencing performance with the results reported to the COR.

2.9.2 Pre-screen candidates using E-Verify Program. Contractors shall comply with the requirements set forth in FAR clause 52.222-54 Employment Eligibility Verification and FAR Subpart 22.18 in using the E-Verify Program at (https://www.e-verify.gov/) (website subject to change) to meet the contract employment eligibility requirements.

Contractors are encouraged to cooperate with Federal and State agencies responsible for enforcing labor requirements to include eligibility for employment under United States immigration laws in accordance with FAR 22.102-1(i). An initial list of verified/eligible candidates shall be provided to the COR no later than three business days after the initial contract award. When contracts are with individuals, the individuals will be required to complete a Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, and submit it to the Contracting Officer to become part of the official contract file.

3.0 Submittals. Prior to commencement of work, the Contractor shall submit the following documents to the COR – Joe Maxwell for review and approval: Government approval is required for submittals with a "G" classification.

SD-01 Preconstruction Submittals

Preconstruction submittals that are required prior to or commencing with the start of work shall be submitted within 30 calendar days of contract award unless specified elsewhere in the PWS.

Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA); G-AO

Abbreviated Accident Prevention Plan (APP); G-AO

Identification of Contractor Employees and Vehicles; G-AO

Proof of Insurance for Contractors and Subcontractors; G-AO

SD-02 Shop Drawings

See the attached specifications for required SD-02 submittals. These submittals are of the following nature.

Drawings, diagrams, and schedules specifically prepared to illustrate some portion of the work. Diagrams and instructions from a manufacturer or fabricator for use in producing the product and as aids to the Contractor for integrating the product or system into the project.

SD-03 Product Data

See the attached specifications for required SD-03 submittals. These submittals are of the following nature. Catalog cuts, illustrations, schedules, diagrams, performance charts, instructions, and brochures illustrating size, physical appearance, and other characteristics of materials, systems, or equipment for some portion of the work. See Attached submittal list and attached specifications.

SD-06 Report

See the attached specifications for required SD-06 submittals. These submittals are of the following nature. Report signed by authorized official of testing laboratory that a material, product or system identical to the material, product, or system to be provided has been tested in accord with specified requirements. Unless specified in another section, testing must have been within three years of date of contract award for the project. Report that includes findings of a test required to be performed on an actual portion of the work or prototype prepared for the project before shipment to job site.

Report that includes finding of a test made at the job site or on sample taken from the job site, on portion of work during or after installation.

SD-07 Report

See the attached specifications for required SD-07 submittals. These submittals are of the following nature.

Statements printed on the manufacturer's letterhead and signed by responsible officials of manufacturer of product, system, or material attesting that the product, system, or material meets specification requirements. Must be dated after award of project contract and clearly name the project.

Document required of Contractor, or of a manufacturer, supplier, installer, or Subcontractor through Contractor. The document purpose is to further promote the orderly progression of a portion of the work by documenting procedures, acceptability of methods, or personnel qualifications.

SD-11 Closeout Submittals

As-builts; G-AO

In coordination with the COR, all as-built conditions must be recorded after completion of the contract work for the elements depicted on the as-built drawings. The final as-built markups in ink shall be submitted no later than 2 weeks after completion of on-site work. The COR will use these markups to have the USACE perform the CADD changes to the drawings. The contractor will not be responsible for making the CADD changes.

3..1 Submittal Procedures

a. SUBMITTALS. During the performance of this contract, the Contractor will be required to submit to the Contracting Officer for approval, review, or for information only certain descriptive literature, data, fabrication drawings, shop drawings, diagrams, test reports, samples, certificates, etc., as identified below. The required submittals will be submitted in the number of copies and directed to the Tri-Lakes Project Office.

b. SUBMITTAL FORM. The attached submittal form (ENG Form 4025) will be used for transmitting the submittals. This form may be reproduced by the Contractor and shall be properly executed by filling out all the heading blank spaces and identifying each item submitted. Special care should be taken to ensure proper listing of the specification paragraph and/or sheet number of the contract drawing pertinent to the data submitted for each item.

c. ACTION REQUIRED. If the submittal is for information only or for review, work will continue unless the Contracting Officer notifies the Contractor that the submittal fails to indicate that the material, method, test, etc., conforms to the specification. If the submittals require approval, such submittal must be submitted to and approved by the Contracting Officer prior to performance by the Contractor.

d. MEANING OF APPROVALS. The submittal returned to the Contractor shall be marked as noted on the back of ENG Form 4025. The approval of the submittal by the Contracting Officer shall not be construed as a complete check, but will indicate only that the general method of prosecution and detailing is satisfactory. Approval will not release the Contractor of the responsibility for any error which may exist as the Contractor is responsible for satisfactory prosecution and detailing of all the work.

e. WHEN NOT APPROVED. The Contractor shall make all corrections required by the Contracting Officer and promptly furnish a corrected submittal in the form and the number of copies as specified in the initial submittal.

f. WITHHOLDING OF PAYMENT. Payment for materials incorporated in the work will not be made if required approvals have not been obtained.

g. SENDING OF SUBMITTALS. The Contracting Officer may request submittals in addition to those listed when deemed necessary to adequately describe the work covered in the respective sections or drawings. Prior to submittal, all items shall be checked and approved by the Contractor and each respective transmittal form (ENG 4025) shall be stamped, initialed, and dated by the Contractor certifying that the accompanying submittal complies with the contract requirements.

h. “G-AO”, “G-DO” and “FIO” Submittals. For submittals identified herein as “G-AO” and “G-DO” the Contractor shall submit one (1) digital copy (pdf format). All “G-AO” and “G-DO” Government Approved submittals are noted as “G-AO” and “G-DO” in the technical specifications and shall be sent to the Tri-Lakes Project Office. These submittals will be routed by the COR to approiate government personal for review and approval. Submittals not requiring Government approval have no notation and are “For Information Only” and shall be submitted to the Tri-Lakes Project Office.

4.0 Materials. The following materials will be provided by the contractor. The material specification are detailed in the attached specifications.

c. Metering pedestal

d. Disconnect switch

5.0 Execution.

5.1 The contractor shall supply install and remove the equipment specified in this PWS, and the attached drawings and specifications.

5.2. Submit all required forms and submittals.

5.3. Participate in a kick-off meeting with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) key personnel to review the project schedule and deliverable submittal dates, review project background and expectations for final deliverable.

5.4. Refer to Attached drawings, specs, and Bid Schedule documents for detailed items.

5.5. Conduct a site visit to Bear Creek to view existing conditions prior to commencing removal of the existing equipment and installation of the new service feed, meter stand, and switch.

5.6. Prior to commencing any activities onsite, the contractor shall arrange a Pre-work Meeting with the COR. The Meeting shall discuss the stagging area, work requirements, current schedule, and submittal status and approvals.

6.0 Inspection and Tests. The government will provide inspection of all work in accordance with FAR 52.213-4 – Terms and Conditions – Simplified Acquisitions (Other Than Commercial Items). See attached specification for any further testing requirements.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Section I will be initiated by the Contractor in the required number of copies.

2. Each Transmittal shall be numbered consecutively. The Transmittal Number typically includes two parts separated by a dash (-). The first part is the specification section number. The second part is a sequential number for the submittals under that spec section. If the Transmittal is a resubmittal, then add a decimal point to the end of the original Transmittal Number and begin numbering the resubmittal packages sequentially after the decimal.

3. The "Item No." for each entry on this form will be the same "Item No." as indicated on ENG FORM 4288-R.

4. Submittals requiring expeditious handling will be submitted on a separate ENG Form 4025-R.

5. Items transmitted on each transmittal form will be from the same specification section. Do not combine submittal information from different specification sections in a single transmittal.

6. If the data submitted are intentionally in variance with the contract requirements, indicate a variation in column h, and enter a statement in the Remarks block describing he detailed reason for the variation.

7. ENG Form 4025-R is self-transmitting - a letter of transmittal is not required.

8. When submittal items are transmitted, indicate the "Submittal Type" (SD-01 through SD-11) in column c of Section I.

1.3 SUBMITTALS

1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.4.1 Fuses

Submit coordination data as specified in paragraph, FUSES of this section.

1.4.2 Regulatory Requirements

In each of the publications referred to herein, consider the advisory provisions to be mandatory, as though the word, "must" had been substituted for "should" wherever it appears. Interpret references in these publications to the "authority having jurisdiction," or words of similar meaning, to mean the Contracting Officer. Provide equipment, materials, installation, and workmanship in accordance with NFPA 70 unless more stringent requirements are specified or indicated. NECA NEIS 1 shall be considered the minimum standard for workmanship.

1.4.3 Standard Products

Provide materials and equipment that are products of manufacturers regularly engaged in the production of such products which are of equal material, design and workmanship and:

a. Have been in satisfactory commercial or industrial use for 2 years prior to bid opening including applications of equipment and materials under similar circumstances and of similar size.

b. Have been on sale on the commercial market through advertisements, manufacturers' catalogs, or brochures during the 2-year period.

c. Where two or more items of the same class of equipment are required, provide products of a single manufacturer; however, the component parts of the item need not be the products of the same manufacturer unless stated in this section.

1.4.3.1 Alternative Qualifications

Products having less than a 2-year field service record will be acceptable if a certified record of satisfactory field operation for not less than 6000 hours, exclusive of the manufacturers' factory or laboratory tests, is furnished.

1.4.3.2 Material and Equipment Manufacturing Date

Products manufactured more than 3 years prior to date of delivery to site are not acceptable.

1.5 WARRANTY

Provide equipment items supported by service organizations that are reasonably convenient to the equipment installation in order to render satisfactory service to the equipment on a regular and emergency basis during the warranty period of the contract.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT

As a minimum, meet requirements of UL, where UL standards are established for those items, and requirements of NFPA 70 for all materials, equipment, and devices.

2.2 CONDUIT AND FITTINGS

Conform to the following:

2.2.1 Rigid Metallic Conduit

2.2.1.1 Rigid, Threaded Zinc-Coated Steel Conduit

ANSI C80.1 , UL 6 .

2.2.1.2 Rigid Aluminum Conduit

Rigid Aluminum Conduit shall not be used.

2.2.2 Rigid Nonmetallic Conduit

Rigid Nonmetallic Conduit shall not be used.

2.2.3 Intermediate Metal Conduit (IMC)

IMC shall not be used.

2.2.4 Electrical, Zinc-Coated Steel Metallic Tubing (EMT)

EMT shall not be used.

2.2.5 Plastic-Coated Rigid Steel and IMC Conduit

Plastic-Coated Rigid Steel and IMC Conduit shall not be used.

2.2.6 Flexible Metal Conduit

Flexibel Metal Conduit shall not be used.

2.2.7 Fittings for Metal Conduit

UL 514B . Ferrous fittings: cadmium- or zinc-coated in accordance with

UL 514B .

2.2.7.1 Fittings for Rigid Metal Conduit

Threaded-type. Split couplings unacceptable.

2.3 WIRES AND CABLES

Provide wires and cables in accordance applicable requirements of NFPA 70 and UL for type of insulation, jacket, and conductor specified or indicated. Do not use wires and cables manufactured more than 12 months prior to date of delivery to site.

2.3.1 Conductors

Provide the following:

a. Conductor sizes and capacities shown are based on copper, unless indicated otherwise.

b. Conductors No. 8 AWG and larger diameter: stranded.

c. Conductors No. 10 AWG and smaller diameter: solid.

d. Conductors for remote control, alarm, and signal circuits, classes 1, 2, and 3: stranded unless specifically indicated otherwise.

e. All conductors: copper.

2.3.2 Color Coding

Provide color coding for service, feeder, branch, control, and signaling circuit conductors.

2.3.2.1 Ground and Neutral Conductors

Provide color coding of ground and neutral conductors as follows:

a. Grounding conductors: Green.

b. Neutral conductors: White.

c. Exception, where neutrals of more than one system are installed in same raceway or box, other neutrals color coding: white with a different colored (not green) stripe for each.

2.3.2.2 Ungrounded Conductors

Provide color coding of ungrounded conductors in different voltage systems as follows:

a. 208/120 volt, three-phase

(2) Phase B - red

(3) Phase C - blue

b. 480/277 volt, three-phase

(1) Phase A - brown

2.3.3 Insulation

Unless specified or indicated otherwise or required by NFPA 70 , provide power and lighting wires rated for 600-volts, Type THWN/THHN conforming to UL 83 or Type XHHW or RHW conforming to UL 44 , except that grounding wire may be type TW conforming to UL 83 ; remote-control and signal circuits:

Type TW or TF, conforming to UL 83 . Where equipment or devices require 90-degree Centigrade (C) conductors, provide only conductors with 90-degree C insulation or better.

2.3.4 Bonding Conductors

ASTM B1, solid bare copper wire for sizes No. 8 AWG and smaller diameter;

ASTM B8, Class B, stranded bare copper wire for sizes No. 6 AWG and larger diameter.

2.3.5 Service Entrance Cables

Service Entrance (SE) and Underground Service Entrance (USE) Cables, UL 854 .

2.4 SPLICES AND TERMINATION COMPONENTS

UL 486A-486B for wire connectors and UL 510 for insulating tapes.

Connectors for No. 10 AWG and smaller diameter wires: insulated, pressure-type in accordance with UL 486A-486B or UL 486C (twist-on splicing connector). Provide solderless terminal lugs on stranded conductors.

2.5 DEVICE PLATES

Provide the following:

a. For metal outlet boxes, plates on unfinished walls: zinc-coated sheet steel or cast metal having round or beveled edges.

2.6 ENCLOSED CIRCUIT BREAKERS

UL 489 . Individual molded case circuit breakers with voltage and continuous current ratings, number of poles, overload trip setting, and short circuit current interrupting rating as indicated. Enclosure type as indicated.

2.7 LOCKOUT REQUIREMENTS

Provide circuit breakers, disconnecting means, and other devices that are electrical energy-isolating capable of being locked out for machines and other equipment to prevent unexpected startup or release of stored energy in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.147 , NFPA 70E, and 29 CFR 1910.303 .

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 INSTALLATION

Electrical installations, including weatherproof and hazardous locations and ducts, plenums and other air-handling spaces: conform to requirements of NFPA 70 and IEEE C2 and to requirements specified herein.

3.1.1 Underground Service

Underground service conductors and associated conduit: continuous from service entrance equipment to outdoor power system connection.

3.1.2 Service Entrance Identification

Service entrance disconnect devices, switches, and enclosures: labeled and identified as such.

3.1.2.1 Labels

Wherever work results in service entrance disconnect devices in more than one enclosure, as permitted by NFPA 70 , label each enclosure, new and existing, as one of several enclosures containing service entrance disconnect devices. Label, at minimum: indicate number of service disconnect devices housed by enclosure and indicate total number of enclosures that contain service disconnect devices. Provide laminated plastic labels conforming to paragraph FIELD FABRICATED NAMEPLATES. Use lettering of at least 0.25 inch in height, and engrave on black-on-white matte finish. Service entrance disconnect devices in more than one enclosure: provided only as permitted by NFPA 70 .

3.1.3 Wiring Methods

Provide insulated conductors installed in a raceway type permitted by this Section, except where specifically indicated, where specified otherwise, or where required by NFPA 70 to be installed otherwise. Grounding conductor: separate from electrical system neutral conductor. Provide insulated green equipment grounding conductor for circuit(s) installed in conduit and raceways. Minimum conduit size: 1/2 inch in diameter for low voltage lighting and power circuits.

3.1.3.1 Pull Wire

Install pull wires in empty conduits. Pull wire: plastic having minimum 200-pound force tensile strength. Leave minimum 36 inches of slack at each end of pull wire.

3.1.4 Conduit Installation

Unless indicated otherwise, conceal conduit under floor slabs and within finished walls, ceilings, and floors. Keep conduit minimum 6 inches away from parallel runs of flues and steam or hot water pipes. Install conduit

SECTION 26 20 00 Page 8 parallel with or at right angles to ceilings, walls, and structural members where located above accessible ceilings and where conduit will be visible after completion of project. 3.1.4.1 Conduit Support

Support conduit by pipe straps, wall brackets, threaded rod conduit hangers, or ceiling trapeze. Plastic cable ties are not acceptable.

Fasten by wood screws to wood; by toggle bolts on hollow masonry units; by concrete inserts or expansion bolts on concrete or brick; and by machine screws, welded threaded studs, or spring-tension clamps on steel work.

Threaded C-clamps may be used on rigid steel conduit only. Do not weld conduits or pipe straps to steel structures. Do not exceed one-fourth proof test load for load applied to fasteners. Provide vibration resistant and shock-resistant fasteners attached to concrete ceiling. Do not cut main reinforcing bars for any holes cut to depth of more than 1 1/2 inches in reinforced concrete beams or to depth of more than 3/4 inch in concrete joints. Fill unused holes. In partitions of light steel construction, use sheet metal screws. In suspended-ceiling construction, run conduit above ceiling. Do not support conduit by ceiling support system. Conduit and box systems: supported independently of both (a) tie wires supporting ceiling grid system, and (b) ceiling grid system into which ceiling panels are placed. Do not share supporting means between electrical raceways and mechanical piping or ducts. Coordinate installation with above-ceiling mechanical systems to assure maximum accessibility to all systems. Spring-steel fasteners may be used for lighting branch circuit conduit supports in suspended ceilings in dry locations. Where conduit crosses building expansion joints, provide suitable expansion fitting that maintains conduit electrical continuity by bonding jumpers or other means. For conduits greater than 2 1/2 inches inside diameter, provide supports to resist forces of 0.5 times the equipment weight in any direction and 1.5 times the equipment weight in the downward direction.

3.1.4.2 Locknuts and Bushings

Fasten conduits to sheet metal boxes and cabinets with two locknuts where required by NFPA 70 , where insulated bushings are used, and where bushings cannot be brought into firm contact with the box; otherwise, use at least minimum single locknut and bushing. Provide locknuts with sharp edges for digging into wall of metal enclosures. Install bushings on ends of conduits, and provide insulating type where required by NFPA 70 .

3.1.5 Covers and Device Plates

Install with edges in continuous contact with finished wall surfaces without use of mats or similar devices. Plaster fillings are not permitted. Install plates with alignment tolerance of 1/16 inch. Use of sectional-type device plates are not permitted. Provide gasket for plates installed in wet locations.

3.1.6 Electrical Penetrations

Seal openings around electrical penetrations through fire resistance-rated walls, partitions, floors, or ceilings.

3.1.7 Grounding and Bonding

Provide in accordance with NFPA 70 . Ground exposed, non-current-carrying metallic parts of electrical equipment, metallic raceway systems, grounding conductor in metallic and nonmetallic raceways, SECTION 26 20 00 Page 9 telecommunications system grounds, and neutral conductor of wiring systems.

In addition to the requirements specified herein, provide telecommunications grounding in accordance with TIA-607 . Where ground fault protection is employed, ensure that connection of ground and neutral does not interfere with correct operation of fault protection.

e. Plans and elevations showing opening and pulling-in iron locations and details
