About this file

This specifications and photos document pertains to communication tower removal services for Cherokee County, Iowa Department of Transportation. The project involves the removal of a 180-foot tall Rohn tower located 0.75 miles west of Meriden on IA-3 in Cleghorn, Iowa (coordinates: 42°48'2.5"N, 95°39'23.3"W). The tower was originally installed in 1988 and is currently equipped with a top-mounted DB224 antenna set and associated cabling. The tower is positioned adjacent to an ISICS tower (ISICS Cherokee #22) and is landlocked, requiring specialized equipment and personnel for removal. No manufacturer drawings are available for the structure, and the weight of individual sections and total tower weight cannot be verified. The removal project proposal deadline is August 27, 2026.

The document indicates that the tower requires crane and tower crew services for removal due to its landlocked location and structural configuration. No specific pricing terms, contract duration, or incumbent information is provided in the specifications document itself. Contractors responding to this opportunity should be prepared to assess site conditions, develop removal methodologies, and coordinate closely with Cherokee County DOT regarding proximity to the adjacent ISICS tower and associated infrastructure concerns.
