The plans and specifications for the subject project shall be changed in accordance with the information listed below:

1. Section 01 50 03, paragraph 1.5: Specifications shall be amended to allow contractors to bid on this work if they are qualified to install chillers and piping systems in any state in the United States of America, not just in the State of Ohio. This paragraph shall also be amended to include the following statement: The centrifugal water chillers being replaced under this contract are highly specialized items that are critical elements of providing a productive and comfortable environment for over 4,000 personnel. Contractors shall provide data required in this paragraph and subparagraphs which reflect that the contractor has successfully executed multiple similar or larger projects (both in scope and impact) to this project.

2. Performance points: Drawing 4-551, Sheet 3, “Centrifugal Water Chillers Schedule”, note 1 (NPLV) shall be replaced with the following chart. The contractor shall be required to meet or exceed the listed efficiency for EACH data point. All points shall be calculated at “Zero Tolerance” conditions.

3. Drawing 4-551, Sheet 3: Contractor shall replace the existing 4160 volt 3 phase electric starters that service Chillers# 2 & #3 (labeled as Starter WC-FCP-2 & Starter WC-FCP-3) with new starters. Contractor shall remove and replace the starters in conjunction with the schedule for replacement of the chiller, which is that the work shall be scheduled such that only one chiller is out of service at any one time. Contractor shall expand the 4” concrete housekeeping pad if necessary to allow for any physical size difference between the original and new starter housing.

Starter replacement shall be performed in addition to all other work specified on this sheet. The new starters shall be compatible with the new contractor-supplied chiller. Refer to chiller manufacturer specifications for exact motor starter requirements. Starters shall at a minimum be of the “soft start” type, and be fully compatible with existing building control system, with no further upgrades or modifications required by the government in order for the starter to accept and utilize signals and information to/from the starter and building control system.
