1. Question:

Attachment_01_-Performance_Work_Statement_(PWS) states “B. The contractor shall provide explosive detection services during 16 visits each month for a consecutive six (6) hour duration during each visit.

During eight (8) of those sixteen (16) visits the contractor shall simultaneously provide contraband/illicit drug detection services for a consecutive four (4) hour duration during each visit. The total number of explosive detection services visits equals 192 per year; the total number of contraband/illicit drug detection services equals 96 per year.”

Is the contractor able to provide a single handler with two canines (Explosive Detection, and Narcotic Detection, respectively) to provide simultaneous detection services, or does the Government require two handlers to work simultaneously for the stated four (4) duration?

Answer: There are two handlers that will have both dogs at all times and utilize them as required for that visit. Per the Factor 1 “Technical Capability” section of the RFQ, the dog has to be certified, the handler has to be certified, and they have to be certified together as a team.

NOTE: An updated Schedule of Services document is also provided as an attachment to this amendment to provide corrected yearly quantities for all Base Year and Option CLINS.
