Professional services include consultative and collaborative support regarding animal models, behavior, nutrition, health surveillance, husbandry, holding, veterinary care, surgical and post-surgical care, diagnostics, and disease control
The purpose of this contract is for the acquisition and delivery of standard, commercial laboratory animal diets and bedding to DVR and other facilities on the NIH campuses located in Bethesda and Poolesville Maryland. DVR is a centralized service organization that supports the NIH Intramural Research Program (IRP).
1.1 BACKGROUND
This acquisition is a continuation of a previous three-year contract. DVR operates several AAALAC-accredited facilities across the NIH main campus in Bethesda and the NIH Animal Center in Poolesville, Maryland. 1.2 SCOPE
The scope of this contract is to procure, on a weekly basis, laboratory animal diets and bedding for the purpose of maintaining the health and well-being of DVR animals.
Continuity of supply is critical. Specifications of the types of feed and bedding required are included in the following link:
https://www.ors.od.nih.gov/sr/dvr/drs/nutrition/Pages/Sources-Sought.aspx
An estimated quantity of each type of diet and bedding required on the contract is included as Appendix A. Pricing Schedule of Diets.
1.3 OBJECTIVES
