About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for automatic door operator replacement and installation services at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in Oak Harbor, Ohio.

The scope of work requires the contractor to furnish and install a Record 8100 Low Energy 39" Single Clear ADA Operator Package or equivalent, including heavy-duty outswing arms, wireless components (two transmitters and one receiver), and a three-position function switch. Installation must be performed by AAADM certified technicians during normal business hours and include removal and haul-away of existing equipment, application of BHMA 156.19 compliant decals, and reuse of existing push plates and boxes. The contractor must provide a one-year parts and labor warranty for the installed operator package. Final acceptance occurs upon successful installation per specifications, correct and safe door operation, and written acceptance from refuge staff following a final walkthrough. Due to project complexity, site visits are highly encouraged and expected for accurate quotes. Site visits can be coordinated with Technical POC Jason Lewis at 419-340-2922 or jason_lewis@fws.gov during weekday business hours. The document includes technical information regarding door-mounted reactivation sensor functionality, which activates when the operator is engaged to detect persons or objects in the door opening and maintain door operation until safe passage is complete.

Door Mounted Reactivation Sensor

The sensor is turned off when the door is shut so if someone was to use the door manually the sensor will not work, and the door will shut like a manual door.

When a person activates the operator, the sensor is now on and working, the sensor will detect a person or object in the door opening. Once the person is through the door the operator will time out and start to close but if a person is walking out and the door mounted sensor detects that person it will open and stay open until the person is through the door. When the door finally shuts the sensor with turned off.
