About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for Motor Operated Valve (MOV) Critical System Inspection and Repairs for a naval ship. The document outlines requirements for a contractor to provide a manufacturer's representative to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair MOVs throughout the ship, including valves in Firemain, Seawater, Cargo/Unrep, and Bilge Discharge systems. Key deliverables include a comprehensive Condition Found Report detailing valve issues, parts needed, and repair requirements, as well as an operational test of MOVs in the presence of the Chief Engineer to ensure proper functionality. The contractor must cycle valves manually and electrically 3-4 times in each direction and provide a full report documenting inspections, repairs, and testing, with all repaired valves required to have zero water leaks.

The work is categorized as Category "A" and dated 2022-05-19, with a reference to T/M T6435-CN-MMC-010 for T-AKE Motor Operated Valves with Actuators. Critical safety notes emphasize the presence of high-voltage electrical systems and inconsistent electrical color coding, requiring contractors to test all cables and obtain proper authorization before working in high-voltage areas. The contractor is responsible for providing all labor, materials, and tools, and must coordinate with the Chief Engineer regarding valve operations and potentially seek additional manpower through the MTA contract if needed.
