About this file

This is a Procurement Exemption Notice issued by Pierce County Planning and Public Works Department for the direct purchase of replacement power control modules (PCMs) for the Sontek RiverSurveyor M9 sensor currently utilized by the Surface Water Management Division. The County has determined that only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts meet the required specifications for replacement components. The procurement exemption will remain valid for 24 months from the notice date. Entities interested in fulfilling this requirement must submit a capability statement via the OpenGov platform demonstrating authorization by the OEM to sell PCMs and other replacement components matching the specified requirements. Questions regarding this procurement may be directed to Andrew Robson at the Pierce County Finance Department at (253) 798-7456 or Andrew.robson@piercecountywa.gov.

The estimated total cost for replacement power control module purchases over the 24-month exemption period is $30,000.00. The County has identified Sontek as the OEM authorized to provide these parts. This sole source procurement exemption allows Pierce County to directly negotiate and purchase replacement components without conducting a competitive bidding process, contingent upon the vendor's ability to supply OEM-authorized parts matching the technical specifications required for the Sontek RiverSurveyor M9 sensor system.
