Statement of Need

Element #1 Product Title 4D-Nucleofector® Core Unit 4D-Nucleofector® X Unit Core Unit Warranty Extension (1y) X Unit Warranty Extension (1y)

Element #2 Statement of Need/Purpose and Objectives The project of interest focuses on virus-host interactions using the NucleoFector Units for electroporation of primary cells to increase transfection of difficult gene targets. Transfecting cells with various gene targets from different species or knocking down expression of gene targets will elucidate the effect of those targets, or lack-there-of, when infecting cells with the virus of interest. For mpox, current antiviral interventions have shown poor responses when treated post-symptom onset. Understanding these host-viral interactions is critical when designing public health intervention studies. Due to the difficulty of transfecting primary cells with our genes of interest, the 4D-Nucleofetor Core Unit and it’s accessories are necessary to perform these studies.

Element #3 Product Specifications/Features/Salient Characteristics -Supporting Nucleofection® of various cell numbers in different formats (16-well Nucleocuvette® Strips or 100 µL Nucleocuvette® Vessels -up to 32 reactions/min -No greater than: Dimensions: (w x h x d): 24.5×14.7×28 cm / 9.7×5.8×11.0, Weight: 4.4 kg ( 9.7 lb) -cell type specific optomized protocols especially for primary cells -Guaranteed genetic delivery to cytoplasm and/or nucleous -No release of aluminum ions
