STATEMENT OF WORK
Equipment Maintenance Program
1) BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Laboratory of Allergic Diseases (LAD) conducts basic and clinical research on immunological diseases with emphasis on immediate hypersensitivity disorders that includes a broad spectrum of allergic diseases. The overall objective of the division is to investigate the genetics associated with Atopy, elucidate signal transduction pathways, understand the biological manifestations of effector-cell activation in tissues and carryout translational research to understand the pathogenesis of allergic inflammation.
To study this, it is imperative to know which cell types are present in each experimental sample and the LSR Fortessa and accompanying FACS Flow Supply System allow us to discriminate between these cell types by analyzing markers on the cell surfaces which are indicative-of-and-unique-to specific cell types. This acquisition is to continue the maintenance agreement to keep this equipment functioning properly.
The Laboratory of Allergic Diseases (LAD) currently owns the LSR Fortessa and Facs Flow Supply System. To maintain the integrity of on-going research it is imperative that this equipment be maintained in fully operational status. This maintenance agreement will protect the investment of the laboratory in both the equipment and the research in progress.
