Yesdescribe: This is a yearly conference specific to the needs of internal audit.
Answer: Training to increase professional auditing skills pertaining to Global Internal Audit Standards, Status of the audit profession in Illinois, fraud risks and scenarios, data protection and privacy, IT governance, ethics, and critical thinking skills.
Answer2: his conference is only offered by SIAAB. SIAAB's mission is to serve as a clearinghouse for the correlation of internal audit training needs among the State's internal audit agencies.
Answer3: This year's conference includes sessions on Cybersecurity and Information Technology Governance including emerging technology and artificial intelligence as well as Risk Assessment in today's rapidly changing environment. Both topics have become increasingly important to internal audit in state government. If not approved, internal auditors will miss an opportunity to gain essential technical knowledge which could impact their ability to ensure compliance with

mandatory auditing standards. Additionally, they would miss training to remain current with regulatory updates and IT advancements, which are vital to the success of internal audit functions.

Answer4: There is no alternative training, as this is the only Illinois specific auditing conference. There are no additional procurement expenditures. There will be 15 internal audit staff attending for a total of $3,530.00.
