Introduction

The National Center for Border Management (NCBM) is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) which is responsible for the Integrated Border Management (IBM) and the coordination of all the authorities operating in the Borders of the Republic of Kosovo.

The following are the authorities operating in the NCBM:

- Kosovo Police,

- Food and Veterinary Agency, and

- Kosovo Customs

The other law enforcement authorities are also part of the NCBM and together with the relevant units of the In-telligence and Risk Analysis, they create and interact in combating negative occurrences.

The NCBM request deals with the establishment of a case – request management system which, when received as information, should be sent to the relevant units for further action, and the grouping of all relevant analytical information from all the authorities, where some of the information should be exchanged in real time and they will assist in fighting crime and in coordinating actions.

The project in itself contains the development of:

- Case – Request Management System, and

- Business Intelligence, Analysis and Visualization System The NCBM is interested, in particular, in the system development expertise that contains Dashboards, Visualiz-ation of data and which are ranked as a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant.

Purpose The main purpose of the project is the interconnection of existing systems of all the IBM authorities in order to create analyses which would help fight negative occurrences, the creation of common risk profiles, as well as in the further advancement of the exchange of information.

Current situation The NCBM is the main coordination, communication, support and information center for all the border authorit-ies of Kosovo.

The NCBM does not possess its own system which manages numerous requests, but systems of IBM authorities are installed into a special computer, which, as such, work independently and do not enable the immediate inter-action for coordination and action needs, and as such, they make the proper functioning of this center im-possible.
