Amendment 0001 to RFQ SB1341-17-RQ-0680
Amendment 0001 to Request for Quotations (RFQ) SB1341-17-RQ-0680 (A) incorporates questions and responses and (B) extends the response date.
(A) The questions and respective answers are as follows:
Industry Question 1: What are the attachment locations to the cryostat?
NIST Response to Industry Question 1: The cryostat has a ring of bolt hole locations near its outer rim on the top surface. Specifically, there are 24 equally spaced tapped holes for M8 bolts on a 28.5 in diameter bolt circle.
Industry Question 2: What does the cryostat weigh? What is the manufacturer model #?
NIST Response to Industry Question 2: The cryostat weighs approximately 1000 lbs., as indicated in the solicitation. It is manufactured by Janis Research Company, Model JDR500 dilution refrigerator system for STM applications.
Industry Question 3: What are the vibration isolation requirements for the cryostat? Is 2 Hz resonance acceptable both in horizontal and vertical direction?
NIST Response to Industry Question 3: The resonance frequencies listed in the solicitation are required.
Industry Question 4: Is the Inertia slab currently isolated? If so, what are the isolator resonant frequencies?
NIST Response to Industry Question 4: The Inertial slab is currently isolated with pneumatic isolators with horizontal and vertical frequencies around 1Hz.
Industry Question 5: Is there currently any other type of isolation included?
NIST Response to Industry Question 5: The granite slab also has pneumatic isolators separating it from the Inertia slab.
Industry Question 6: How are the inertial slab and Granite Table connected?
NIST Response to Industry Question 6: See answer to question 5.
Industry Question 7: Why is the granite table not symmetrical?
NIST Response to Industry Question 7: The granite table is not symmetrical because of the layout of ultra-high vacuum chambers which are laid out on its top surface.
(B) Extension of Response Date
Amendment 0001 to RFQ SB1341-17-RQ-0680
As a result of this Amendment, the response date for RFQ SB1341-17-RQ-0680 is extended to Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Except for changes made herewith, all other terms, conditions, and provisions remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
