About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of high-resonant frequency shock accelerometer instrumentation by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) to support propulsion testing for the Integrated Rotating Detonation Engine System (InRoDES).

The SOW encompasses four Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) for delivery within specified timeframes. CLIN 0001 requires 15 Quartz Accelerometers (Kistler 8044 or equivalent) capable of measuring accelerations up to 20,000g with a nominal resonance frequency of at least 80 kHz, operational temperature range of -195 to 200°C, and 10-32 or larger electrical connectors and mounting threads, with delivery within 7 weeks. CLIN 0002 specifies 15 In-Line Charge Converter Modules (Kistler 5050B0.5 or equivalent) that produce 5-20 Volts peak-to-peak output with operational temperature range of -54 to 100°C and 20-second maximum warm-up time, also due within 7 weeks. CLIN 0003 requires 25 High-Insulating Cable Extensions (Kistler 1635C5 or equivalent) with 5-meter minimum length, operational temperature range of -55 to 200°C, and connectors sized for the accelerometers and converter modules, due within 3 weeks. CLIN 0004 covers shipping and handling to MSFC Central Receiving in Huntsville, Alabama, occurring concurrently as each CLIN becomes ready. All deliverables require calibration certificates per Kistler specifications, onsite manufacturing and calibration, and quality inspections. The vendor must provide a one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

High Resonant Frequency Shock Accelerometer Instrument

Procurement Statement of Work (SOW)

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), specifically Marshall Space Flight Center

(MSFC) requires accelerometer instrumentation and associated hardware to support upcoming propulsion testing. The accelerometers will be attached to components under extreme temperature and severe vibration.

This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the work that NASA MSFC wishes to contract.

2.0 SCOPE

This SOW covers the provision and shipping of 30,000g Quartz Accelerometers along with the associated in-line charge converter modules and extensions for high insulating cables.

To ensure clarity and compatibility with NASA procurement processes, each piece of hardware is defined as a unique Contract Item Line Number (CLIN), with its own requirements, quantities, and period of performance defined below.

The vendor will furnish all labor and equipment necessary to (1) manufacture accelerometer sensors onsite,

(2) calibrate sensors onsite, and (3) perform quality inspections onsite to meet technical specifications quoted above. Deliverables must meet the technical requirements outlined under each CLIN and be suitable for integration into MSFC propulsion test facilities.

The vendor will warrant that the sensors to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. If the sensors fail during the warranty period, the vendor will repair, replace or exchange it without charge.
