About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the purchase and installation of spray booth and spray hood equipment at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Building 5, Room E062 in Greenbelt, Maryland.

The contractor shall provide two spray booths with complete installation services. The main booth (Item A) is a dry filter enclosed finishing booth with internal dimensions of 18 feet wide by 10 feet high by 20 feet long, featuring 20-gauge dual-skin insulated pre-coated white steel walls, semi-downdraft design, LED lighting, and a 24-inch mixed flow fan with TEFC motor at 4.5" static pressure (Aerovent brand). The booth operates at 100 feet per minute air velocity with 3600 cubic feet per minute exhaust capacity, utilizing a recirculating system (80% recirculate, 20% exhaust), chromate 3-stage filters, tacky intake filters, and adjustable fabric rollup door. Key modifications include insulation for climate control, new exhaust duct routing with a 25-foot offset and 22-foot centerline height, fan relocation above the 24-foot roof with discharge 10 feet minimum above roof, guy wires for wind load, and personnel door repositioning. The facility will integrate NASA's onsite climate control air handling unit delivering 3600 cubic feet per minute. The bench booth (Item B) is a dry filter open-face bench booth with internal dimensions of 4 feet wide by 4 feet high by 3 feet long, single-skin galvanized steel construction, cross-draft design, 100 feet per minute air velocity, 1600 cubic feet per minute exhaust, and 20x20x2 GFS wave panels. This booth requires fan relocation above roof with exterior-grade coating, 5-foot exhaust duct offset, 10-foot minimum roof discharge, guy wires, and early installation to enable production. The contractor shall provide all supervision, assembly hardware, labor, electrical wiring, lifting devices, and equipment training.

STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objective/Requirements

1.1. The Thermal Coating group requires the purchase and installation of a new spray booth and spray hood in Building 5 room E062 at Goddard Space Flight Center. Facilities requirements have changed the spray bench and spray booth design resulting in design changes. The changes to the spray booth and bench booth are listing in Section 2.1 and 2.3.

1.2. The contractor shall provide the supervision necessary to perform the work, supply all necessary assembly hardware for quoted equipment, assembly spray booths and exhaust ducts, supply necessary labor to install equipment, provide all electrical wiring of spray booth components, provide lifting devices, and training of equipment.

2. Scope, and Specs

2.1. Requested change to Main Booth (Spray Booth) Item A

Change the Booth to a recirculating booth while spraying (80% Recirculate, 20 % exhaust)

Change Booth Working Height to 10’ High Inside Working Insulate Booth for climate control New exhaust Duct Routing. Building Roof Height is 24’, we need a 25’ offset in the exhaust duct and a 22- High centerline from floor for the horizontal run to allows us to attach duct hangers to the ceiling rafters.

Move Fan above Roof and include fan stand, motor cover, and roof flange with collar Discharge must be 10’ above roof minimum.

Add guys wires for wind load Move the personnel door to the other side.

NASA has a climate control AMU onsite capable of delivering 3600 CFM of climate-controlled air into the booth.

2.2. Specification of Spray booth

Dry Filter Enclosed Finishing Booth Recirculating Booth Spray Booth internal dimensions 18’ wide x 10’ high x 20’ long 20 Gauge Dual Skin Insulated walls Pre-Coated White Steel Semi Downdraft LED Light Fixtures 100 FPM air velocity 3600 CFM exhaust Industrial Exhaust Chamber 24” mixed flow fan with TEFC Motor at 4.5” SP Aerovent

Chromate 3 Stage filters Tacky intake filters Adjustable fabric rollup door Contra Flow System

2.3. Requested change to Bench Booth (Spray Booth) Item B

Move the exhaust fan above building roof, includes fan stand, motor cover, and roof flange with collar.

Fan and stand to be coated with exterior grade coating.

Provide a 5’ offset in the exhaust ducting to move the stack in from the edge of the building roof.

Discharge must be a minimum of 10’ above roof Add guy wires for duct wind load.

Install early to allow production of product FSI can do a temporary start-up on this booth until the GFS Technician arrives to start the larger booth, then he/she can double check the bench booth.

2.4. Specification of Bench booth

Dry Filter Open Face Bench Booth Internal working dimensions 4’ wide x 4’ high x 3’ long Single skin Galvanized Steel Cross Draft 100 FPM air velocity 1600 CFM Exhaust 20x20x2 GFS Wave Panels
