About this file

This is a Bid Bond form issued by Napa County, California, for use in state and local contract opportunities. The form establishes the bonding requirements for contractors submitting bids to Napa County Board of Supervisors for projects including the Napa Library Building Maintenance Project, which encompasses building exterior maintenance work such as stucco patching, concrete spalling repairs, window and joint sealants, pressure washing, and repainting various surfaces. The bond obligates the principal contractor and surety to enter into a written contract within the prescribed timeframe following bid award, and to file performance and payment bonds as required by law.

The bid bond must be in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount and may be submitted on this Napa County form or on a form supplied by a licensed surety insurer. If the contractor is awarded the contract and executes the required contract documents and bonds with the Clerk of the Napa County Board of Supervisors within the specified time and manner, the bid bond obligation becomes null and void. In the event the County pursues legal action on the bond, the surety shall pay all costs incurred by the County, including reasonable attorney's fees as determined by the court. Both the principal contractor and surety must execute the bond before a Notary Public.
