About this file

This document is an E-Verify Declaration form from Pierce County Human Services, requiring businesses seeking county contracts over specific monetary thresholds to enroll in the federal E-Verify program. The declaration applies to county contracts for public works exceeding $100,000 or other contracts over $25,000 with a duration longer than 120 days. Businesses must enroll in the E-Verify system, provide documentation of enrollment, and continue using the system throughout the contract period.

The document outlines specific compliance requirements, including that prime contractors are responsible for verifying enrollment of all subcontractors meeting the criteria. Pierce County reserves the right to request a Memorandum of Understanding from the Department of Homeland Security at any time, with failure to provide documentation potentially resulting in contract suspension or termination. The E-Verify program, implemented on March 1, 2010, is a web-based application designed to verify employment eligibility, accessible at www.dhs.gov/everify.
