About this file
The document is an E-Verify Declaration form from Pierce County Human Services in Washington state, specifically designed for contractors bidding on county contracts. The form requires businesses seeking county contracts exceeding $100,000 for public works or $25,000 for other contracts (with durations over 120 days) to enroll in the E-Verify system, which verifies the employment eligibility of workers. The prime contractor must provide certification of enrollment upon award notification and is responsible for verifying all subcontractors' enrollment.
The declaration mandates that the business is currently using the E-Verify system implemented on March 1, 2010, and will continue to do so for the duration of the contract. The contractor acknowledges that Pierce County reserves the right to request a copy of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Homeland Security at any time, and failure to provide this document within 10 days could result in contract suspension or termination. This requirement is part of Pierce County's commitment to ensuring legal employment practices for contractors working on county projects.
