GENERAL NOTES:
1. The Contractor shall provide all engineering, labor, tools, supervision, and materials required to provide and to install new utilities including Domestic Cold Water, Domestic Hot Water, Laboratory Compressed Air, Deionized Water, and Electrical Power for a new VA owned SPS sonic sterilizer in the Service Level Interstitial Space and the Service Level of building 3 (Bldg. F).
2. All Contractor provided and installed systems shall be complete, functional, field tested, and conform to equipment manufacturer's recommendations, VA specifications, and federal, state, and local codes.
3. All piping and electrical work in finished rooms shall be concealed above ceilings or within walls.
4. Fire caulk to maintain fire rating of all penetrations.
5. Prior to bid preparation, the Contractor shall field verify all required new piping and conduit run lengths and all required offsets. New piping and conduit lengths shown in this drawing set are approximate. Offsets and obstacles are not shown. Many spaces are congested with piping, conduit, duct, and equipment.
6. The Contractor may utilize existing supports to hang new piping and conduit where available. The Contractor shall provide new supports where needed.
7. The Contractor may utilize existing floor penetrations where available. The Contractor shall concrete core drill new openings where needed. Minimum hole diameter is 2 inches.
8. Restore any disturbed walls, floors, or surfaces to original condition.
9. Some construction operation such as those which produce noise and vibration or construction operations or that require the shut down of an electrical panel for tie in may be required to be performed outside of normal working hours, specifically early mornings, late afternoons, or weekends. Coordinate with the Contracting Officers Representative.
10. Follow NEW and NFPA 70E requirements and guidelines for electrical work.
11. Protect all existing furnishings, fixtures, and equipment: HVAC, PA system, lighting, fire protection, electrical conduit, etc.
