NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION

WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001

SOLICITATION: RFP-NRC-HQ-11-R-04-0047

AMENDMENT NO. 1

TITLE: PROBABILISTIC RISK ASSESSMENT SUCCESS

CRITERIA USING MELCOR MODELS

Question and Answers for Solicitation

- The Solicitation is revised to reflect the changes shown below.

Question No.1: Meetings and Travel are denoted in Section C.10 of the solicitation. However, Task 4 of the Scope of Work (Section C.3) refers to participation "in any meetings to compare and contrast the results" of MELCOR and MAAP calculations. Where would these meetings be held (e.g., suburban Chicago), and should we include them in our travel cost estimate? In addition, Task 6 of the Scope of Work (Section C.3) refers to "presentation of work performed at NRC and at a domestic conference".

Should we include estimated travel costs for a possible presentation at a domestic conference (e.g., American Nuclear Society meeting)?

NRC Response:

• For the meetings referenced in Task 4, the cost proposal should assume that contractor participation will be via teleconference (i.e., no travel costs).

• Since the travel to a conference is not explicitly called out in the meetings/travel section of the solicitation but is called out in Task 6, the solicitation is intending that the time spent attending a domestic conference would be covered by the contract, but that the travel expenses would not be covered and therefore travel to a domestic conference should be included in the cost proposal. This trip was inadvertently omitted from the meetings/ travel section.

The closing date remains unchanged. Closing date as stated May 31, 2011 4:00pm est.
