About this file

This addendum to the solicitation for HVAC repair at the 141st Air Refueling Wing Combat Engineering Squadron facility provides updated specifications and drawings. Key details include allowing 100% economizer capability to be added to HVAC-1 with DOAS-1 tying into the return duct. Only the BAC talk DDC control system from Alerton shall be used to interface with the existing EMCS. Supply and low temperature limit sensors must be installed per specifications, but return air sensors are not required. A motorized DOAS damper and associated relay are needed, and duct smoke detectors must be connected to the Notifier fire alarm panel to shut down AHUs on detection. Revised control diagrams, DDC sequence of operations, and specifications are attached as well as a new engineering/contracting office layout and HVAC plan.

Text version

1. It is acceptable to add 100% economizer capability to HVAC-1. DOAS-1 will tie into return duct of HVAC-1.

2. Maintenance Management Software is not required for this project. DDC control provided must interface with existing EMCS system. Only the BAC talk system from Alerton shall be used.

3. The existing sequence of operations can be used for the existing VAVs.

4. The low temp limit (freeze stat) can be omitted since the AHU does not have hydronic coils.

5. Per UFC 3-410-01, supply airflow rate sensor is required. Do not install return airflow sensor.

6. Air quality sensor for outside air is not required.

7. Add ceiling grilles near existing VAV's for fresh air to units.

8. A motorized DOAS damper is required. See specifications section 23 74 33 part 2.12.F and drawing set on the control diagrams on sheet M-700. Installing a damper in the plenum is acceptable. The damper shall be 120V/1 ph. Two-position, open/close, is acceptable.

9. Bid options are not in scope and should not be in this proposal.

10. The building will be occupied during construction so a phasing plan will be required.

11. Temp heat or AC will be required during the construction project.

12. Contractor will be responsible for moving furniture and set back up. Government will move personal belongings, computers, and communication equipment.

13. On M-103 there is duck smoke drawn on the supply ducting. NFPA requires the DS to be connected to the building FA system. Full drawing and specs not required. Provide addressable duct smoke detectors listed for use with the existing Notifier AFP-200 fire alarm control panel (FACP). Connect new duct smoke detectors to fire alarm signaling line circuit. Provide control relays, or relays integral with the new duct smoke detectors, to initiate shutdown of the associated AHUs upon detection of smoke. Provide programming at FACP to incorporate the new duct detectors and relays. Duct detectors shall activate a supervisory condition at the FACP. Duct detector and relay installation shall be in accordance with their listings and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Install devices in conditioned spaces or provide NEMA 4 enclosures around devices. Devices shall be listed for the expected ambient temperature range. After installation is complete, provide testing in accordance with NFPA 72 and UFC 3-600-01.
