Clarifications, Questions and Answers

Solicitation No. R17PS00629

Clarifications

1. See the attached marked popup barrier drawings which identify actual locations for conduit, keypads and control stations for each existing popup barrier. The marked popup barrier drawings also identify the location and opening direction for the new K12 rated active vehicle barriers.

Questions and Answers

1. Most manufacturers provide rebar cages already welded and attached to the buttresses. Would this be acceptable with manufacturer’s drawings and certification?

Providing rebar cages already welded and attached to the buttresses is acceptable provided it meets all specified active barrier requirements and includes manufacturer’s drawings and certification.

2. On Section C – SOW – Page 9 of 17, RSN 11 Section Title 5.D.5 it says “Manufacturers Data certifying active barrier meets K4 rating”… is that supposed to say “K12” rating?

Correct, Page 9 of 17, RSN 11 Section 5.D.5 contains an error indicating Manufacturer’s Data certifying active barrier meets K4 rating…. Remove and replace “K4” with “K12”.

3. On section C – SOW – Page 10 of 17 under 6.0 Delivery: it says “…active rated vehicle barrier shall be a minimum of sixteen (14) feet. Is it supposed to say fourteen (14) feet?

Correct, Page 10 of 17 under 6.0 Delivery contains an error indicating “… active rated barrier shall be a minimum of sixteen (14) feet.” Remove and replace “sixteen” with “fourteen”.

4. Regarding the location of the new barriers, does the new K12 rated active barrier need to be integrated into the existing pedestrian chain link fencing, the jersey barriers, or any landscaping?

The new K12 rated active barriers do not need to be integrated into the existing pedestrian chain link fencing, the jersey barriers, or landscaping. As indicated in the SOW, passive barriers may require relocation. Also, location overall and clear opening for passive barriers shall be field verified prior to building gates.
