About this file

This document is a set of questions related to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS) for an IBM TS7770 Virtual Tape System (VTS) to replace the existing IBM TS7760 VTS in Springfield, Illinois. The current TS7760 system is running out of disk space and will be going out of support in December 2024. ILSOS is seeking 1 VTS system for the Springfield location and has provided clarification on several aspects of the IFB, including the replacement of a power cord feature, disk erasure services, maintenance requirements, and the exclusion of alternative products.

The IFB stipulates a 5-year maintenance period, with ILSOS requesting an estimate for a 5-year maintenance renewal. Pricing terms, set-asides, and funding sources are not explicitly discussed in this document, though ILSOS has indicated a willingness to negotiate any price changes when the renewal term is available.
