About this file
The document is a Qualified Product List/Approved Product List for Retroreflective Sheeting issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation's Bureau of Materials and Physical Research. The list is dated January 2, 2025, and adopts standards from the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction Section 1091. Four manufacturers are approved on this list: Avery Dennison (with locations in Ohio and Illinois), Orafol America (in Connecticut), and Three M (with locations in Minnesota, Alabama, and Texas).
The document details approved retroreflective sheeting types (AA, AP, and ZZ) for various colors including white, yellow, red, blue, green, brown, fluorescent orange, fluorescent yellow, and lime. Each manufacturer is listed with specific product codes for different sheeting types and colors. The list includes a detailed procedure for product submission, which requires manufacturers to provide three 13"x13" sample squares, technical data sheets, and contact information for testing and approval. The list is provisional and subject to change, with yearly testing requirements that include color, gloss, and retroreflectivity assessments to maintain approval status.
