The following are questions that have been posed by vendors regarding the Office Furniture Solicitation (PR11568835) for U.S. Embassy Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. To maintain transparency among all interested vendors, I will post any questions specific to the solicitation requirements along with the responses (BOLD) here on sam.gov.
1. Will Exhibits A thru D be made available?
Exhibits A thru D are included in the attachments.
2. Are measurements for furniture and office space contained in these exhibits? The Measurements for each office location is provided in exhibits A thru D. If not contained in these exhibits, can we have dimensions and or floor plans for the rooms and furniture to ensure we meet access and egress codes? Floor plans with dimensions are provided in exhibits.
3. Electric and IT connections are required, yes? Electric and IT connections are not required, only the desk grommet for wire organization.
Combination 110/220 – 50/60 hz electrics or only 220/50? N/A IT cable faceplates required. No Embassy is responsible for stringing / pulling IT cables, yes? Yes Building electricians will be available for connections to building electrics, yes? Yes
4. High wall (1650 mm +) cubicles are now out of fashion with interior designers / OBO. Do you want to consider a combination of high and low panel (1100 mm / 1200 mm) cubicles? No, Post is going with the high cubicles to create privacy because several of the staff have positions that require daily phone conversations with different government officials, vendors, etc.
5. Do you want height adjustable tables in the cubicles? Monitor arm? Light?
Drawer? In/out trays? Post will not provide cubicle specifications, only to provide the minimum requirements are a desk, chair, lower filing/desk drawer cabinet, and upper storage cabinet.
6. Do you have a contracted Embassy freight forwarder who we can contact to assist with exonerated customs clearance? No, Post works through Despatch agencies that work with different freight forwarders.
7. Is the site visit mandatory? Will the bidder be penalized for not making the site visit? Will the Government reimburse for some or all of the site visit costs? Or, cover some of the local site visit costs? Each proposal will be evaluated equally, and no vendor will be excluded solely based upon their inability to attend the site visit. The site visit is not reimbursed by the government.
Kind Regards, Joseph R. Williams Contracting Officer
