Addendum 2 Notification for Citywide Apparel - FBR 2097-27
This is an Addendum 2 Notification issued by the City of Asheville, North Carolina, dated October 19, 2026, addressing questions submitted regarding the Citywide Apparel solicitation FBR 2097-27. The addendum provides clarification on uniform apparel requirements for the Public Works, Water Resources, and Capital Asset Management Departments, and includes a revised bid due date of Thursday, October 29, 2026. The scope encompasses 92 items of apparel with varying quantities to be procured on an as-needed basis rather than as pre-purchased inventory. Key clarifications address item specifications, style numbers, sizing requirements, embroidery specifications (4" x 1.75" size with Pantone 301 C one-color screen print), logo provision by the city to the awarded bidder, and acceptable decoration methods limited to screen printing only. The addendum confirms that bids must remain firm for 60 days following bid opening, one-time digitizing and screen setup charges must be included in unit pricing, and out-of-state vendors may submit bids, though North Carolina business registration is required upon contract award.
The addendum addresses significant administrative matters including the removal of Item 24 (Carhartt Hood) due to unavailability, corrections to multiple item style numbers and descriptions, and clarification that the City of Asheville currently has no incumbent contractor for these items. Pricing terms require that sales tax not be listed on bid documents as the city pays sales tax upon processing payment. Orders will be placed both in bulk and individually as needed throughout the contract period, with delivery terms referenced in Section 19 of the bid document's terms and conditions. The city will provide vector or high-resolution files for department logos to the awarded bidder and confirmed no acceptance of alternative decoration methods such as heat transfer or Direct to Film printing. No previous contract cost information is available for reference, and vendors must acknowledge all addenda with their bid submissions or risk rejection.
