About this file
The document is a comprehensive service coverage guide for the Pinellas County Health Program (PCHP) and Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) Program, effective September 1, 2024. The guide details a wide range of medical and support services available to program participants, including primary and preventive care, screenings, mental health services, substance use treatment, pharmaceutical services, transportation, and translation services. The document specifies which services are fully covered, limited, or not covered, and indicates whether each service requires a medical home referral or clinical pre-authorization.
The service coverage guide provides detailed limitations and conditions for each service type, including prescription medication limits (ten medical and five non-medical prescriptions per month), specific constraints on services like pain management and surgical procedures, and guidelines for specialty referrals. The program appears designed to provide comprehensive healthcare access for vulnerable populations, with a focus on preventive care, managing chronic conditions, and addressing immediate health needs. Services are predominantly provided through medical homes or by referral, with an emphasis on cost-effective, targeted healthcare interventions that support the unique needs of the Pinellas County community, particularly those experiencing homelessness or with limited healthcare access.
