Introduction This is a notice issued on behalf of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Acquisitions, OA Office of the Director, OD, DHHS, UNITED STATES. This is a Small Business Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to seek the availability and capability of small business concerns, including 8(a) small business and/or small qualified small business concerns [including Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB), Woman-owned Small Businesses (WOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Small Businesses, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB] that are interested in and capable of performing the work described in the statement of work. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible.
Background The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is seeking small businesses with the ability to provide 800 MHz NMR Console and Probe and associated components.
STATEMENT OF NEED:
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Genomics Core (NGC) utilizes the Bruker Spatial Biology nCounter Pro System to perform experiments that assess gene expression changes in biological samples. The continued operation, reliability, and performance of this instrument are essential to supporting ongoing research activities.
The primary objective of this contract is to acquire new upgraded equipment for the NMR Research Core Facility of the Division of Intramural Research, NIEHS, NIH based on research requirements determined by the Institute. The 800 MHz NMR system requires upgrades to maintain it in good working order for research conducted at NIEHS. The required system will interface with the existing 800 MHz Agilent 4K Compact magnet at NIEHS. The system will include in generalized terms: a new 4 channel console designed primarily for biomolecular NMR and interfaces, a new room temperature probe, a new helium cooled probe with required accessories, and potentially and HR-MAS probe. The system will need to interface with a temperature controlled automated sample changer.
