Oil Distributor Specifications Summary
This document outlines detailed specifications for single axle, 2,000-gallon asphalt distributors required by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) through an Information for Bid (IFB) solicitation. The contract shall commence from the executed date of award and continue for three years with up to two one-year renewal option periods. Bids will be received electronically through MissouriBUYS Powered by MOVERS or by mail through USPS, UPS, or FedEx, with hard copy submissions requiring five calendar days advance notice to buyer Ashten Nichols (ashten.nichols@modot.mo.gov). The specifications require truck-mounted, self-contained distributors with 1,750-2,000 gallon capacity meeting all Missouri road and bridge laws, featuring functional capabilities including external tank filling, circulation systems, return capability from spray bars and hand wands, and material transfer between external sources without tank entry.
The distributor specifications require comprehensive cab and chassis features including a minimum 300 horsepower engine with 860 pound-feet torque, Allison automatic transmission with Fuller AT1202 auxiliary drop box, air ride suspension with specified Gross Axle Weight Ratings (14,000 lbs front and 23,000 lbs rear), and full air brakes with 18 CFM compressor. Tank construction must utilize Type 304 stainless steel with full insulation, dual high-pressure burners providing approximately 428,660 BTU per hour each, and both electrical heating and fuel oil heating systems. The spray bar shall extend up to 16 feet with three nozzle size sets, powered raise/lower/shift/fold capability, and application rates between 0.05-0.6 gallons per yard squared. The manufacturer must provide a seven-year engine and aftertreatment warranty covering 150,000 miles and unlimited hours, along with a five-year cab and chassis warranty covering 150,000 miles. All equipment shall comply with Federal Regulations 173.242, B13, and 406.198A, with DOT Highway Yellow or white exterior paint and complete operational tools included.
