FBO Questions & Answers NRMAG000-18-00981CM2 Q: Will as as-built survey of the site be required after completion of the demolition services?
A: We do not need as-builts after completion of demolition.
Q: Will sub-surface utility locations (SUE) services be required for locating all underground utilities to be removed as part of the demolition services? Or is the Government providing information on the location of the underground utilities on the site?
A: We won’t mark the utilities. You’ll need to call 1-800-522-OKIE to locate them for you.
Q: I know you are calling for the septic tank to be removed! Do you know what size it is? Has its location been identified? Is there a readily available borrow pit on the airport property or is it up to me to source the fill dirt?
A: It is the small standard size that was used in the later 1970s, 1500-2000 gallon I think. It is up to you to source all the fill dirt needed for this job. There will probably be post holes that will need to be filled as the interior fence and post will be removed as well.
Q: Will NOAA disconnect the power?
A: Yes, we will call in for the power to be disconnected.
Q: What material is the pedestal made of? Does the pedestal have built-in lifting lugs? Are you absolutely 100% sure on weights of the pedestal & the Doppler dish/antenna?
A: The pedestal is steel. I don't think so and no, not sure on the weight of the antenna. The antenna is mostly aluminum. Pedestal weight is 20,000 pounds.
Q: Where is the cellar located? Could you use clean broken up concrete for use as fill material here and in the septic system? Or are you specifically requiring and requesting fill dirt?
A: Location of the cellar is just north of the double wide that is to be crushed. I don't know the airport people would have to tell us, but they tell us we have to remove the septic tank and the cellar so I would think they want as little concrete left as possible.
Q: Are you wanting to save just the Antenna and the pedestal? What else specifically are you wanting to save, that would be considered components? Would you also want to save the mounting tubes/brackets on the backside of antenna?
A: All of the antenna and all of the pedestal must be saved. There is equipment and other items in the buildings that we still have to remove, but anything in the buildings at time of removal will go with the building.
Q: The plastic/fiberglass geodome frame would be scrap as well as all of the structural steel, stairs, etc. ?
A: Yes, that is correct. The dome can be scraped as well.
Q: Would you have to test for Naturally Occurring Radio-logical Material (NORM)?
A: Not that we are aware of.
Q: Is there an asbestos survey that will provided?
A: An asbestos survey must be completed and signed off by the State. This will be handled by the Government and provided to the contractor before work is to begin.
Q: Is it the responsibility of the contractor to dispose of fluorescent lights and ballasts?
A: The contractor will need to dispose of fluorescent lights and ballasts.
Q: Are you providing the crates to transport the Doppler radar systems?
A: We are not providing crates to transport the Doppler radar systems.
Q: It is our understanding that the contractor is responsible for transporting them to Norman, OK?
A: A contractor (could be the same that does the demolition or secondary contractor, contractors may quote one or all three line items) or the contractor who provides crating could transport the Doppler. Whomever does this will need to provide a crane in Norman to offload crates and flip the XBand radar at North Base site.
Q: Will the job need to be permitted through the city/county?
A: Any permits required will be the responsibility of the contractor per the Description of Work in the SOW.
Q: Will workers need to be supervised by a government rep?
A: Probably not, but more than likely someone will probably be there.
Q: Will there be a POC that we have to go through each day for entrance to job site?
A: A key will be provided.
Q: Is there access to the property next to the site (west of), because I have some concerns on a crane having enough room to set up on the road or being able to get on to the site itself because of the drainage ditch between the road and fence.
A: Somebody would have to talk to the airport personnel and probably the farmer that has cattle on the land to the west. The Government paid to survey only the 3 points on the property that the crane should be setting up inside the triangle area.
