Title: GSFC Building 011, Room S137 Restroom Modifications

GENERAL:
Currently, there are insufficient Women’s restroom facilities on the first floor of Building
011. To remedy this, the existing Room S137 men’s restroom facilities are to be converted to men’s and women’s restroom facilities.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and associated services necessary to perform the following in accordance with the Scope of Work and Sketches 1 and 2 depicted below:
1. Remove existing locker room entrance door and men’s restroom doors (see Sketch 1).
2. Install wall and doors to create a vestibule area with access to the men’s locker room and the new women’s restroom (see Sketch 2).
3. Provide lighting fixtures and LED exit sign in the new vestibule area.
4. Remove lavatories (5), urinals (3), water closets (4), stall partitions, appurtenances, and associated hardware (4), and fluorescent electrical lighting fixtures (4) from existing men’s restroom.
5. Install a wall in the existing men’s restroom to create a new women’s restroom.
a. Men’s restroom shall have at least one urinal and two water closets.
b. Women’s restroom shall be a single occupant water closet.
6. Upgrade both restrooms to meet ADA requirements.
7. Remove or relocate existing light fixtures, as needed (see Sketch 2). Install LED exit sign in men’s locker room.
8. Install wall mounted lighting fixtures in both restrooms (on the wet wall over the toilet fixtures). Install a ceiling mounted smoke detector in each restroom.
9. Inspect condition of the restroom exhaust system.
10. Replace exhaust air grills in both restrooms.

11. Install new floor tiles on existing in both new restrooms (locker room does not require new tiles).
NOTE: All work shall be accomplished in accordance with GSFC FaCETS III
Construction and Architect-Engineer specifications.
