About this file

This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for the procurement of proprietary genomics consumables and equipment from 10x Genomics, Inc. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) is seeking to acquire a GEM-X Epi Multiome system and associated kits to support multiomic sequencing workflows. The specific items required include the GEM-X Epi Multiome system for 16 samples (Catalog #1000979), GEM-X Epi Multiome Chip Kit with 4 chips (Catalog #1000951), Single Index Kit N Set A (Catalog #1000212), and 10x Magnetic Separator B (Catalog #1000394). All products must be manufactured by 10x Genomics and designed to enable simultaneous epigenomic and transcriptomic profiling from the same biological sample.

The consumables and equipment must meet specific functional and performance characteristics to maintain compatibility with existing 10x Genomics instrumentation and laboratory protocols. All items are single-use, as required by the manufacturer, and the magnetic separation equipment must be specifically designed for 10x Genomics workflows to ensure efficient bead-based separation steps and data quality. The procurement is essential to support ongoing research at NINDS and ensure accurate and reproducible experimental results. The solicitation is processed through the Department of Health and Human Services, and this appears to be a specialized equipment procurement requiring sole-source or limited-source justification due to the proprietary nature of the 10x Genomics platform and the specific technical requirements of the research application.
