1.0 General

1.1 The Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) has a requirement to purchase hydrophone array cables in support of acoustic operations performed by NAVOCEANO, Stennis Space Center, MS. To accommodate various deployment depths, NAVOCEANO utilizes several hydrophone array configurations. These cable arrays must be compatible with NAVOCEANO’s existing stock of hydrophones.

1.2 Throughout the contract, the government will issue additional cable orders to meet government requirements. Each cable shall support the connection and mounting of hydrophones specified in each delivery order. The contractor will create waterproof rubber molding on to array cables. In addition to hydrophone connections, the cable will also include a 4-wire bus with connection points 1 meter from each hydrophone breakout location. The 4-wire bus will be used for auxiliary sensors. The contractor will provide a mounting bracket and connections for government specified hydrophones. The array cables will be delivered to the government unpopulated and without sensors. Each end of the array will have a mechanical grip appropriate for attaching to other mooring equipment. On one end of the array, a connector head breakout shall provide connections to the hydrophones and 4-wire bus.

2.0 Requirements

2.1 General

2.1.1 The array cable shall have a full ocean depth rating of 6000 meters for all components.

2.1.2 Array cable must operate within specifications between 0 C to 50 C.

2.1.3 Array cable must operate without damage between -20 C to 70 C. Contractor shall provide a one (1) year warranty on workmanship of all products.

2.1.4 Array cable orders shall include the total length of the array cable and locations for each hydrophone location.
