AUDIO/VIDEO INSTALLATION – N4008521Q2500
NAVFACSYSCOM MID-ATLANTIC
NORFOLK, VIRGINIA
07 April 2021
Question 1. On the VTC system: During the site visit and SOW it was stated that we would reuse the existing Polycom system and incorporate it into the new set up and it would only be used in room 116 when in separate mode or the same Polycom system could be in both 108 and 116 when in combined mode. (Meaning microphones and speakers from 108 would be combined with 116 for VTC)
Answer 1. Reuse the existing Polycom system and incorporate it into the new set up and it would only be used in room 116 when in separate mode or the same Polycom system could be in both 108 and 116 when in combined mode. (Meaning microphones and speakers from 108 would be combined with 116 for VTC). Disregard independent simultaneous conferencing desired both rooms 108 & 116 statement.
Question 2. On question #8 it asked about independent simultaneous conferencing and the answer states “Yes, independent simultaneous conferencing desired both rooms 108 & 116” Is the Government now requesting a separate VTC system set up for room 108 with additional cameras mounted in that room for VTC? That would be the only way to do “Simultaneous Conferencing” If so, is the Government providing another Polycom codec?
On Audio Conferencing:
During the site visit it was stated that audio conferencing would be designated for room 108 and VTC for 116.
Answer 2. The audio conferencing would be designated for room 108 and VTC for 116. Disregard independent simultaneous audio conferencing when in separate mode statement.
On new Revised SOW (3rd paragraph) is states “Each room shall have audio conferencing capability” Is it required to have independent simultaneous audio conferencing when in separate mode?
If so, is Government providing a separate analog telephone line at AV rack location for room 116 audio conferencing system?
Question 3. Microsoft Teams or Zoom:
On answer #35, it states, that “Microsoft Teams is no longer needed. Microsoft Teams and other programs will be used via the software on the PCs” But on answer # 11 it states, “However AV/VTC equipment needs to be at least 1080P capable” regarding Microsoft teams.
Answer 3. Microsoft Teams and other programs will be used via the software on the PCs.
Question 4. Is the Government planning on using the rooms microphones and cameras to use when streaming through Microsoft Teams, Zoom or any other software base soft codec?
If so, then the AV system needs to encode the AV signal to allow video and audio into PC.
Answer 4. Yes, the Government plans on using the rooms microphones and cameras to use when streaming through Microsoft Teams, Zoom or any other software base soft codec so, the AV system needs to encode the AV signal to allow video and audio into PC.
