SOLICITATION # N3225318R0020

X-RAY EQUIPMENT REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. QUESTION: Is there somewhere there at code 135 that I can do the repairs to the tube and generator?

ANSWER: The repairs can be done inside the x-ray Permanent Radiographic Installation (PRI) which is the x-ray room itself and is large enough for several people to work in.

2. QUESTION: Section 3.1.1 states the HV cables will be redressed as needed.

Section 3.2.2 states The contractor shall provide and replace HV cable and disk in Permanent

Radiographic Installation (PRI) D. The contractor shall provide and replace HV cable and disk and socket in PRI E. The difference between checking/regreasing the cable (which is the standard) versus replacing the cables is very different. Can you clarify what you will need for this xray syatem?

ANSWER: One HV cable and disk in PRI D will need to be provided and replaced. Need to provide grease for the installation. One cable, disk and socket in PRI E will need to be provided and replaced. Need to provide grease for the installation. The other HV cables in PRI D and PRI

E will need to be checked and regreased.

3. QUESTION: The general description describes the insulating disk which is used on the GE

420/450KV xray tubes with maintenance free ends. I wanted to find out the model# of the xray generator and tube. Those cables are very expensive and take about 6 week lead time to get.

Another issue with new cables is ensuring that the ends to the generators are correct. If you have

Pantak generators, I would need to see if you can still get those kind of cables for a Pantak generator. GE still sells the maintenance free cables with R24 ends that go into the newer Titan generators.

ANSWER: We have two (2) Pantak-Seifert Isovolt 450 HS x-ray machines, capable of 450 kV and 10 mA, maximum 4500 Watts. We do not have the newer Titan model.
