The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and do not constitute an amendment to the solicitation.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 525
1. Work Item 525 - Please provide serial number and photos if available. Also, Please confirm the compressor model 15T2 is correct as the manufacturer is stating the below:
We believe these units are Model N20NL-11. The item specifies working on all 5 stages of the HPAC.
The model and tech manual listed as a reference are incorrect. Model 15T2 type 30 only has 2 stages.

QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 517
2. Work Item 517 - The manufacturer is stating there is no known part number 904-7513 PC #17, please advise.
Use Part number 904-7515. CCSI had wrong part number.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 614
Item calls for the diffusers to be renewed but the drawings referenced do not supply enough information in order to provide a purchase cost. Lacking is the installation, configuration, sizes, volume requirements and materials they are made of. Please provide this missing information.
Ref 5503578 supplied.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 524
Paragraph 3.2 states the enclosure 3.2.1 is Contractor Furnished Materials. Throughout the specifications it says this material is GFM. Please clarify if enclosure 1 is CFM or GFM.
Enclosure I is CFM.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 520
Paragraph 3.1.2 calls for a price for 300 feet of pipe 2” and below at 3” minimum per location. The item as written is ambiguous. The Ship-yard proposes a unit price per foot for 2” galvanized seamless steel pipe per foot only or further clarification of pipe sizes and quantities.
ANSWER: Cat B item- price for hours and material. Any additional costs will be negotiated with
CCO.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 525
After review of item 0525 it appears to have the wrong model referenced. Please verify. The tech manual referenced is also incorrect. Please verify. Please provide photos if available. Item states to work on all 5 stages of the HPAC and the 15T2 only has two stages. Please clarify

Please provide reference 2.2.3, Zeus Master Gauge List 2017.
ANSWER: is included with references.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 105/106
Will WI 105 and WI 106 be worked in conjunction, combining the removal of deck plates, bilge cleaning, and covering / protecting the equipment?
Yes the work can be worked inconjuction. Note a final clean and inspect will be required before machineary space turn over.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 105
Paragraph 7.11 requires the contractor to furnish and install rubber padding. Please provide the amount of neoprene rubber required.
Paragraph 7.11 requires the contractor to furnish and install rubber padding. Please provide a drawing of the support structure of the deck plate being removed.
ANSWER: SPEC is A CCSI. ZEUS does not have rubber between deckplates and supports.
Disregard pharagph 7.11
Paragraph 7.12 requires the contractor to furnish and install new stainless-steel fasteners. Please provide the total number and size of fasteners required.
ANSWER: For bidding purposes use 500 as the number.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 106
1. Paragraph 7.1.6.1 requires the contractor to deliver the deck plate to the shop for blasting. Please provide the total number of deck plate to be blasted.
2. Paragraph 7.1.6.1 requires the contractor to deliver the deck plate to the shop for blasting. Please provide the total square footage to blasted.
3. Paragraph 7.1.6.1 requires the contractor to replace 25 square foot of deck plate. Please provide the thickness and grade material of the deck plate.
We do not have a direct number of plates, assume approx. 3000sqft of deck plate Plate is 3/8 steel dimond plate.
Paragraph 7.8.4 requires the contractor to coat the deck plate. Please provide the total square footage of deck plate to coated.
ANSWER: duplicate Use references for dimensions.
1. Paragraph 7.8.9 requires the contractor to reinstall the rose box gratings. Please provide the total number of rose boxes to be dealt with.
2. Paragraph 7.8.9 requires the contractor to reinstall the rose box gratings. Please provide the sizes of rose boxes to be dealt with.
3. Paragraph 7.8.9 requires the contractor to furnish and install new stainless-steel fasteners. Please provide the total number and size of fasteners required.
1. Rose box grateings are interefereence and will only need to be removed and reinstalled for clean and coatings. Rose boxes are aprrox 3’x3’
2. Price for 500 fastners, we will replace as needed and turn over remainder to the ship.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 112
1. Paragraph 7.1.1 requires the contractor to remove and reinstall interferences to accomplish the requirements of this work item. Not knowing the locations of the kick pipe, can the interferences be addressed on a change order after the locations are identified?
2. Paragraph 7.1.1 requires the contractor to remove and reinstall interferences to accomplish the requirements of this work item. How much interference should be allowed for per kick pipe?
ANSWER: Price for time and materials. Assume 4 square feet of insulation per kick pipe.
1. Paragraph 7.1.2 requires the contractor to open, clean and gas free the affected systems. Not knowing the affected systems can the open, clean, and gas free be addressed on a change order after the affected systems are identified?
2. Paragraph 7.1.2 requires the contractor to open, clean and gas free the affected systems. How much open, clean, and gas free should be allowed for per kick pipe?
ANSWER: any closed spaces or joner panenling will be negotiated in excess of wire pull backs or insulation referenced in previous question.
Paragraph 8.1 requires the contractor to assume five units each. The J3 pricing sheet list 3 units each.
Please clarify the correct number to use.
ANSWER: please use 5 units each.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 113
1. Paragraph 7.2.1 requires the contractor to weld approximately 500 linear feet on the HOS Foundation.
Please provide the size of weld to be repair.
2. Paragraph 7.2.1 requires the contractor to weld approximately 500 linear feet on the HOS Foundation.
Please provide the location on the foundation of the repair.
3. Paragraph 7.2.1 requires the contractor to weld approximately 500 linear feet on the HOS Foundation.
Please provide photo’s (if possible) of the repair area.
Scope is included for discovery during inspection
1. Paragraph 7.2.2 requires the contractor to make repairs to aft deck underside webs totaling 300 square feet. Please provide a drawing of the webs to be repaired.

1. Paragraph 7.2.3 requires the contractor to Perform corrective alignment to one (1) Peck & Hale Locking Plate 01 level frame 45 amidships. Please provide more information of the repairs needed.

This is to ensure proper alightnment during re-installation.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 104
1. Paragraph 3.1.2.1 notes the work area as 10,000 sq ft. Paragraph 3.1.2.2 notes the entire Superstructure.
Please confirm we are preparing the entire Superstructure and the entire Superstructure is 10,000 sq ft of total area.
2. Paragraph 7.2.4 notes the work area for surface preparation as 10,000 sq ft. We are assuming this is the entire Superstructure, and the entire Superstructure is 10,000 sq ft of continuous, unbroken area and not scattered spot work.
3. Please confirm the decks of the Superstructure are not included in the work area (we assume they will need protection)
4. Due to the high cost of containment, can the specified coatings be applied via brush and roll (as long as the proper milage is obtained) or must spray application be utilized?
5. Could the amount, type, style and color of the markings to be restored (7.3.4) on the Superstructure be better identified?
1. Superstructer is defined in 3.1.1.1
2. All areas of the house extended from the cable deck not included in the continuous hull/
3. Care and protect is always applied. You can protect or touch up overspray.
4. Yes brush and rolling is allowed provided mills are correct.
5. Markings are stenciling, red and black are the colors
1. Paragraph 7.6 notes “perform a final cleaning of the engine room bilges prior to the dock trial”. We assume that cleaning all of the areas (3.1.2) would be done once at the end of the job. Is this assumption correct?
2. In as much as the condition of these areas will be unknow at arrival, and even more unknow by departure, could Level of Effort (LOE) pricing be proposed?
1. This is correct, however cleaning will be required to execute WI 0106.
Would the coating work here, be released in conjunction with the washing, degreasing, and cleaning priced in Item 105 above? Are should the items be priced standalone with cleaning included in each?
Bilge will need to be prepped approrially to complet coating. 0105 is for machinery space turn over.
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 111
1. Paragraph 3.1.1 notes the work area as 8,000 sq ft. Can we assume this is one continuous, unbroken area and not several scattered areas over the entire deck? Yes
2. Would the select area of the deck be in the same area as the Superstructure work (Item 104)? Yes
3. Paragraph 7.1.2.1 specifies a daily protection survey. Could this survey take place before 0700 so as to not affect production efforts? Yes or schedualled as needed
4. Paragraph 7.2.6 notes that power tool cleaning is required on select areas i.e. vertical surfaces, bulkheads, etc. These areas might be better suited for UHP water blasting to a WJ-2 standard. Is water blasting acceptable How much of the 8,000 sq ft can be vacuum blasted (7.2.4) and how much would require power tool cleaning? Yes, power tooling is allowed where the contractor cannot use jet or media blasting.
5. Paragraph 7.2.4 notes to vacuum blast “deck tie down fittings, all flush hatches and scuttles”, these areas might be better suited for UHP water blasting to a WJ-2 standard. Is water blasting acceptable?
Could an amount of these items be provided? Yes provide surface prep can be met.
6. Paragraph 7.4.2 notes to apply “Amercoat 385 ASA at a rate of 30 sq ft per gallon”. This seems to be a very heavy millage for this product (it’s usually about 125 sq ft per gallon). The specified rate (30 sq ft per gallon) is usually what’s required for helo deck non-skid. Please advise. Price as written, CCO can be issued during execution if required.
7. Could the amount, type, style and color of the markings to be restored (7.5.1) on the deck area be better identified? Minor stenciling scope..
QUESTION: Specification Item No: WI 540
Paragraph 7.4.1 calls for as-built drawings to be provided. The work item states to remove sheaves / fairing of hull surfaces and painting. Please clarify why as-built drawings are needed.
ANSWER: general arrangement drawing includes this.
