About this file
This document is an Alternate Packaging Instruction for an MH-60 Rotor Blade Container (NSN 6KH 8145-01-142-8789) issued by NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support, dated December 3, 2019. The component NIIN is 01-158-9679 with QUP 001 and ICQ 000. The unit pack specifications are 294 x 38 x 16 inches with a cube measurement of 103.44 cubic feet. Preservation and packaging shall be accomplished in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1, with marking requirements per MIL-STD-129. The Level of Protection is designated as "A."
The packaging instructions specify that P-6 preservative (MIL-C-11796, Class 3) must be applied by brushing or wiping on all corrosion-susceptible surfaces, including the abrasion strip (metal leading edge), which shall be wiped with cold-applied P-6 preservative to leave a thin but perceptible film. MIL-PRF-121 wrapping material is required around areas with contact preservatives and where the blade makes contact with cushion inserts, with seams at the underside of the blade securely sealed with waterproof tape. Wood packaging material (WPM) requirements mandate treatment and marking using the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) stamp per ALSC and ISPM 15 requirements, with the IPPC 15 stamp marked on at least two opposite sides of the box for visibility. The document includes detailed technical drawings showing the container configuration, internal structure, and cushioning layout with specific dimensional annotations.
